<p>I actually think 17 to 18 schools is a high range for the ambitious applicant. </p>
<p>Mainly, because of application management. But also because of additional applications (scholarships, honors programs, early payment for boarding, etc) usually due in the winter/spring. </p>
<p>Also, time management for interviews, school visits, etc. </p>
<p>How would someone have the time to really compare offers with financial aid in consideration? I guess this is the subject for another thread. </p>
