University of Delaware Class of 2028 Official Thread

Got deferred from EA in early November - first school we heard from. Still no RD decision. Kinda shameful tbh. Original letter said they “hoped” to have a decision by early April. A bit relieved we’re not the only ones that didn’t get a decision. (Wrote this school off a long time ago.)

My daughter was deferred from EA and then they asked for 1st semester senior grades. She sent them and waited and waited and finally heard from them this weekend and was waitlisted. So annoying that it took them so long to just waitlist her.

I assume it is a waitlist or a rejection, and we aren’t interested in the school now anyway. But they are the only school who did not provide an actual response, and I think families deserve better.

I’ve heard of college waitlists going all summer.

nvm

I’m sorry to hear this. That’s so disappointing after waiting so long. We haven’t received a decision yet, which isn’t a good sign and is also very frustrating.

I wonder if it’s just an effect of delayed FAFSA/ aid packages. More people delaying enrollment decisions due to financial uncertainty —> more uncertainty for the school on numbers —> delayed actions on the waitlist/acceptance decisions. They extended deposit day until May 15 so it should move soon as the email said most packages should be released over coming weeks.

S24 got waitlisted tonight, so UD is officially off the short list. Apparently his major is very competitive, but at least we can now move on. Best of luck to anyone still waiting.

My son officially committed this weekend. From everything I am seeing on social media - seems like a lot have made it official in the last week or so. Now on to all the shopping/planning etc. I live for that stuff!!! My only wish is that I knew whether he would be in a double or triple next year (Honors Dorm).

You will find out this summer (I’m not sure if you can figure out if it’s a triple or forced triple, they used to have room dimensions on the UD website). Hold off buying until he can contact roommates for many items.

Hello,
Where on the housing application do you mention that AC is very important? Not sure if I missed this. It only asked room style (trad, suite, etc…). Thanks!

It’s not a thing. If you want a/c choose suite style, they will be on north campus, and it’s not a guarantee.
