University of Florida 2014/2015 Transfers

@waitingishard‌ lol congrats!! what was your GPA?

my overall GPA was 3.96.

"Congratulations!!! Your application to the University of Florida for the Fall 2014 term has been approved!

Official notification will arrive by mail, including the conditions of your admission as well as important orientation and immunization information."

My transfer GPA was a 3.57, applied to CALS for Nutritional Sciences. But… I accepted an offer to another school already, so good luck and congrats, Gators!!

To those still waiting-- CALS told me that they review applications by major, so that’s why the wait is so long. :)

@waitingishard‌ congrats! I know it was stressful waiting, trust me! Are you going to minor is bioinformatics? I’m going to apply for it. My names Nicole by the way and I will be at preview on July 7th! If I don’t see you then I’m sure I’ll see you in the principles of micro lecture!

Got my acceptance some time back, but am just now joining this thread! I am so excited to be a member of the Gator Nation and already got a Gator head yard post in front of my condo. Does anyone have their preview date scheduled? Mine is all set for June 23rd!!

How competitive is the Journalism major at UF?

@iLoveOwls‌ I have the same question, so if anyone knows the answer please let us know! Also, does anyone know it is better to apply as a Spring Transfer or Summer Transfer? Thanks!

Sierrauf15 I think spring & summer are both a little bit less competitive compared to fall transfers. I transferred in the spring and there were only about 10-12 who transferred into my major (Nutritional Sciences).

I am posting this in here because I am a UF transfer student (spring 2014). When I transferred I wasn’t too familiar with Gainesville and found a great apt. complex called Oxford Manor. It is right down the road from campus. There is a bus stop at the front of the apartment complex that will take you to campus. Lots of parking, 2 pools, 24 hour gym, tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts, and many other amenities. It is also super about 3 minutes away from Southwest Rec center and Shands. I am leaving UF for personal reasons or else I would love to continue living here!

I’m subleasing my room (bedroom A) in Oxford Manor in a 2/2, so you would live with one other girl. Rent is $500.00/month (currently going for $517.50), and I am offering the first month’s rent free so you wouldn’t start paying rent until October. I have paid the pet fee already. Internet & cable is included and it is fully furnished, with washer and dryer in unit.
You could move in August 16 after I’ve moved out.

I AM WILLING TO NEGOTIATE ON MOVE IN DATE AND RENTAL PRICE. NEED TO SUBLET ASAP.

Send me a text at 321-750-2221 if you are interested.
Females only

Have people started signing up for the spring 2015 semester? I’ll be sending in my application this week and everyone’s telling me I’m really late

I’ll be applying for fall 2015, maybe summer if im lucky…patiently lurking in these threads since summer 2013, just one more year to go! :D

Major: Biology & Psychology, possibly Neuroscience
GPA: 3.95 (A.A. received)
ACT: 31 Composite
Institution: FL Community College
Transfer Term: Spring 2015

I am heavily debating against UF and New College of Florida. Is anybody here applying to New College?

I applied very late and I am not sure if it will factor into my admission decision :. Nontheless here are my stats

Major: Economics (CLAS)
Overall GPA: 3.52
Preprof GPA: 3.825
Institution: St. John’s University
Transfer Term: Spring 2015

@Rpatel727‌ When did you apply? You have a pretty nice GPA though

August 24th

@Lisa695‌

@Rpatel727‌ Has your status changed yet? I applied early August and my transcript still hasn’t been sent to the college of engineering

I applied for Fall 2015, and my application never asked for my transcripts, GPA, or anything regarding grades. The most it had me do was list what classes I’m currently in and what I’m taking in the Spring. When/how do I send my transcripts and everything? Did I miss something?

@BlackMetal you need to contact all of the institutions you’ve taken classes at and ask them to send your transcripts (You can usually do this online as well). Also, If you didn’t take the language requirement in college (meaning you took the 2 years in HS), you will need to send your high school ones as well. Without this they won’t know your GPA or prerequisite GPA and that means they won’t review your application.

My status finally changed to “Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Spring 2015 term has been referred to your college for a final decision.” !
One question though - they asked for my AP exam scores from high school. I sent them in but I don’t understand why they need them. Is that gonna affect my acceptance in any way?
