University of Florida Class of 2028 Official Thread

Friends,
Just put down the $25 housing deposit. Quick question, right after I submitted the payment, there is a “Review the Student Housing Agreement” section. Looking at the content of it, it seems that there will be penalties or cancellation fees if my child decide after 5/1 not to attend UF. Am I understanding this correctly? Please help. Should I hold off on “Sign My Agreement” until housing assignment is given and that we are certain we are happy with it? Thank you so much for your help.

Quick question. Has everybody’s financial aid posted to OneUF? Still nothing but the FAFSA is completed and submitted.

Nothing for me yet and I can’t find any ackowledgment that they got it online. My FAFSA was sent in the first big wave.

Let me try to re-phrase my question, for those who are not 100% sure yet whether to attend UF, has anyone signed the housing agreement? Thank you.

No - I was told to not sign the contract unless you are 100% sure that you will be going. Otherwise there will be a $200 plus penalty if you cancel before May 1st. I cut and paste exactly what I was told somewhere earlier on this thread. Just click on my name and you should find it somewhere (though as a warning, I think I have a lot of posts).

After May 1st, I believe that the penalty amount goes up for cancelling the housing contract.

Aid offers are posted in one.uf!

My daughter committed to Florida this morning and was trying to register for preview days for which you need a GatorLink account. To create this account, you need two pieces of info

  1. UFID - Which was provided as part of the application status page
  2. Invitation Code - We don’t have this. I would have thought, we would receive this as soon as we accept the offer.

Folks who already have a gatorlink account, please advice…

Thanks

Give it 24-48 hours to process the payment and then it should be available

Use this to get your invitation code: Gatorlink Account Management - Self-Serve Invite. Then you can finish setting up your account although it will take about 24 hours for them to open up the preview signup website for you after doing this.

Just noticed that UF charges $1.75 fee for card pay of enrollment deposit. Do not recall any other school charges such a fee. Although I should not be complaining since $200 is much less than $400 or $500. Quick question: it appears that all tuition payments are due at once at UF, they do NOT have monthly or quarterly payment plans like other school does. Is that what you guys see as well? Please advise. Thank you.

The Fee payment date is typically the week following drop/add (once tuition has been calculated and is final). UF does not have monthly/quarterly payments but if a student is having an issue paying their tuition then they should reach out to the OneStop which is the customer service area for Enrollment Management and the Bursar.

Is it normal to still be waiting for a finacial aid package from UF if the FAFSA was filled out in February?

At this point if you/your student completed and submitted the FAFSA correctly, there should be a financial aid package on the ONE.UF for the student.

Okay, I have gotten my offers from all other schools except for UF. Where would I access an offer should one be on there?

One.ufl.edu using the gatorlink that you would have created, then there is a tile called finances that you click on and you’d have the information.

Thank you for confirming. I appreciate it.

I was told by a friend that after today (the first day in housing selections), all of the double dorms were gone except for Graham Hall. I am very concerned and unsure if this is right because there are still 6 days of housing selection, and that means thousands of kids still need housing. I just don’t think it’s possible because there are not enough dorms for the rest of the kids if what she said is true. Even though housing is not guaranteed, this still doesn’t seem right to me. I’m wondering if it’s because she was admitted for Summer B and maybe they have less options/availability for housing? If anyone knows anything that would help me, please let me know. I’m worried I’m not going to get housing at all now.

What we found out today was that a lot of doubles were not available for paired up students because one bed had been selected by a student without a roommate (therefore only one bed open for selection). It was frustrating but my son did find a traditional double for him and his roommate.
