It looks like UF had an increase in applications from nearly 42,000 last year to more than 45,000 this year (with the addition of the Common App).
I was told by an admissions counselor 6000 applicant increase in-state if that helps anyone
@newjerseysenior I’m going to say 90% of that increase is out of state
I’m confused – if there were about 42000 apps last year and about 45000 apps this year, that’s an approximate total increase of 3000. Where is the 6000 number coming from? If in-state apps increased by 6000, then that would mean OOS apps decreased by about 3000. Doesn’t seem to make sense with the addition of the Common App this year. One would think OOS apps would have increased.
eta:
Here’s the reference for nearly 42000 last year: https://admissions.ufl.edu/blog/2019/04/11/uf-s-class-of-2023.html
Here’s the reference for over 45000 this year: https://admissions.ufl.edu/blog/2020/02/25/your-guide-to-decision-day.html
I am just repeating what I was told by an admissions counselor
It does not make sense I agree but that’s what she said
She said approx so it could be 5000
Anyone get an email today from admissions about decision day this Friday?
@KrazyKid yes!
@girlyasian just got an email saying what? Please share!
@FBLsMom I believe girlyasian and I are talking about the same email. It basically just saying how decisions are coming out this Friday and 6 PM EST and some links to check out. Nothing special.
Yep, 6 pm via the portal
Our total number of apps is over 49,000. 42,000 by the deadline. I think they were referring to different numbers.
Did everyone receive the email about decision day being this Friday even if they applied after the November 1 deadline?
yep, got it as well
Question - Does UF consider all sections of the act or just Math and English. On a lot of websites I find the averages of the English and Math scores but they don’t post an average for Science and Reading. I’m confused because they do post a composite average though. Thank you!
I think they use all four sections of the ACT.
son did not get that email - we seem to have a lot of emails bounce back no matter which email application he uses - yahoo, outlook - the large mass emails seem to not make it thru - it is driving me bananas.
We didn’t get the email as well. do we check to see if we got in using the gatorlink? Can someone post the link to check. Is it the same link to check admission stuff received. please advise
