MODERATORāS NOTE:
Might I remind members of the forum rules: āOur forum is expected to be a friendly and welcoming place.ā https://www.collegeconfidential.com/policies/rules
Donāt tell users what they can and cannot post; leave that for the mods. Several posts deleted.
On another note, to put things in perspective, I am told that in the olden days before the magma cooled and while dinosaurs roamed the earth, applicants had to wait by a thing called a mailbox until a person dressed in blue walked up at an unspecified date and time with an envelope containing their decisions. Patience is a virtue.
For those who posted in this forum that they were sure decisions were being released today, as mentioned by the Moderator, anyone can post what they want but remember that there are either parents or most importantly students who are awaiting admissions decisions and you should really think twice about posting false information. #GoTerps
Why do you guys think decisions cannot be released on a Wednesday? Just because it has never been done? I am feeling like it will be Friday, also, but just wondering where the Wednesday thing came from. I apologize if I missed the explanation. Thanks!
Discussion of āI hope/think/wonderā is fine. Discussion of āI read on XXā or āAn AO told meā¦ā is fine. Deliberatively posting false information is considered troIIing, and is a violation of ToS, and those users will be warned or banned as appropriate. Letās not play games here.
@skieurope Thank you for clarifying. The purpose of my post was directed at the idiotic trollers that jammed so many un-needed posts on this forum today. I hope that going forward that the āI hope/think/wonderā continues and nothing else.
School website says by 1/31. That means any day up to that day which is why some high stat kids have already received acceptances. Just be glad itās not like the old days when you had to check your mailbox everyday and pray for a thick envelope.
@jmsstb Nope, no one received decisions as of now besides those who received the letter of acceptance on the Terp bus day. But even those with high stats have not yet heard back.
Oh, I understood, and thank you. My message was more directed at the numerous troIIs/spammers who thought it would be amusing to yank other applicantsā chains on this thread. I spent waaaaay too much time deleting those pointless posts.
@PurpleLlama066 After all the rumors and assumptions that is was yesterday, I have resigned myself to expect it on Friday. If it comes sooner, everyone will be surprised.
I would imagine they are trying to get it out asap and make sure there are no mistakes. Itās probably a much more complicated process than we realize and they donāt want anyone getting the wrong decision accidentally. With that said, I know more kids waiting on UMD than any other school, so I appreciate where you guys are all coming from.
I apologize if the answer is embedded in the 21 pages of comments but Iām at work and canāt peruse all pages. Iām not familiar with the coalition site and my daughter too finds it a little confusing. Will Maryland notify by email or only through the coalition site? Thanks in advance for any guidance.
@33Jdog They will send an email that the decision has been released, but your decision will appear on the Coalition site. Instead of your āchecklistā button, it will say āview decisionā. Itās always between 4:45-5:00, and sometimes it takes a while to log in because of everyone doing it at the same time. Good luck to you!
Just log in to her Coalition account and click on Collegesā¦UMD should be there (on the list that comes up) with two choices, one to view the submission and one to view the checklist. I think when the decision is there the checklist one will be replaced with āview decisionāā¦thatās what I have picked up from this thread.
