University of Miami Class of 2023

Does anyone NOT have the admission deposit message?

I have the message. It appears in red on my portal.

Rafa that has been up for as long as I can remember

I’ve seen it there for a while too, I was just curious to see if anyone didn’t have it @Bayeriffic

You will most likely get in, depends on your major. What schools deferred you?

Can someone chance me

GPA: 3.41 (UW) 3.62 (W)
5 APS
3 Honors
1260 SAT
Really good recs
Strong catholic school
Political Science major
Paid employee of a vet hospital, All-American Kinesiology Student, Campus Ministry (Volunteering 80 hours and leading overnight retreats, multiple sports, Kinesiology student-leader, and some other volunteering at a humane society)

purplecatt respectfully posts like yours is what gets people upset with this site. You clearly have the grades and scores You seem to either be trolling or bragging. And frankly no one here would have any real insight as to whether you’ll get in or not. So I’m not sure what you’re attenpting to accomplish

Hi- I am sorry about my post. After receiving two surprising defers, I am nervous and don’t know what to expect. I like to hear opinions, especially for a school that does not have a supplement or a school specific factor to consider in addition to grades.

Purplecattt where were you deferred from if you don’t mind

We logged on and clicked on the “pick classes” tab. I don’t remember seeing that tab last year for our other child
It only gave us a “spring 2019” option
I’m wondering if that means she’ll be accepted for spring term?? Also, we received a letter in the “to do” section regarding a tax return. In the letter it says to “include your UMID in all correspondence”. We don’t have a UMID yet
maybe I’m overthinking??

Tulane and Villanova

Can anyone chance me? UM is one of my top 3 and I’m just so nervous sitting here waiting lol.

I don’t intend to boast or brag at ALL, it’s just I think we all know the college admissions process has gotten so unpredictable, so it’s calming to see what others have to say.

-GPA: 4.21 W, 3.75 UW
-7 APs (more 4s than 5s)
-4 Honors
-1 Dual Enrollment
-32 ACT
-1 strong LOR but my other one is a bit subpar I think (havent read them, just assuming)
-VERY competitive school, I’m not in the top 10% or anything.
-from the Los Angeles area but I don’t think it matters with private schools
-Microbiology/Immunology Major
-500+ hours at local hosptial on an internship program, also hold 3 positions on their executive board
-nationally ranked pianist
-no sports
-special circumstances: First-gen american, first gen college, URM

@noah2425 I think you should get in. My son got in UM two years ago with a 4.3W, 28 ACT, 7 APs, all state tennis, 250 volunteer hours, and some other ECS. Of course, I have no idea for sure. My D as a 32 ACT (34ss), 4.2 gpa, 12 APs, 600 volunteer hours, all state tennis, some awards and ECS, and was deferred from Tulane. We really thought she would get in there, so she’s worried about all other schools now.

Do you guys think today’s the day??

We only have spring 2019 available for class choice as well

That’s now

Does anyone know when EA applicants will hear back?

could today be it? what time would we expect if so? 4:30 est?

@sad1010 My son’s says this and his app was “supposedly” withdrawn when he emailed admissions to let them know he had gotten into another school ED. So either it means nothing or they never withdrew his app (we did receive a confirmation email from them saying they took care of it).
