ED1 decisions are typically released on the second Friday in December (which would be December 8th). They typically post them sometime between 3-4pm EST.
Are merit scholarships and/or invitation to apply for Stamps included in ED acceptance letter?
Thank you!
Hi! UMiami has been my top school for years now so I applied ED1. My unweighted gpa is between 3.7 and 3.8, and my weighted is a 4.1 I believe, but I know they mostly look at unweighted. I applied test optional, and I did a lot of extra curriculars throughout high school.
In two honor societies and on the board of 1 of them as vice president
I did a performing arts program all 4 years of highschool
4 years varsity cross country and track
I do community service for my temple
Iām the vice president of USY which is a program that is held in my temple (we hold teen events and offer community service hours)
Very good college essay and supplement (as Iāve been told)
My brother graduated from UM last spring which is demonstrated interest
They have a record of me visiting campus
Iāve emailed back and forth with the admissions director
I feel that my application was good, but UM seems to defer a lot now so I was curious on what my chances may be.
Iāve also taken 6 APs, and 5 advanced courses. Thatās why my unweighted gpa may be closer to a 3.7 , but they like to see college courses.
Anyone know when Miami will release EA decisions?
iād say youāre good esp with the ED as they take well over 50% from ED.
checking your high schoolās scattergram is another way to overthink it all if youāre into that sort of thing.
hi!
applied to university of miami EA.
stats:
1320 sat (720 english / 600 math). average sat score at frost is 1300 so i submitted!
4.1 / 4.4 weighted, not sure of unweighted.
6 aps
major: contemporary voice/songwriting at frost. second choice major: screenwriting
umiami (frost specifically) is my top choice! i would have early decisioned but frost majors arenāt able to
i passed the first round of virtual auditions and auditioned in person this past weekend. lots of demonstrated interest (tours, contact, virtual events etc)
would love to know if anyone knows around when specifically decisions will be out and any insight about my stats specifically!
Last year it was the last Friday in January
Hi there. I looked back at my post from last year, and it looks like my daughter was notified on December 16 that she was nominated for the Premiere - Isaac Bashevis Singer & Marta S. and L. Austin Weeks Endowed Scholarships. In the email, there was an essay prompt and it was due January 2nd. I remember that she was working hard over Christmas break. If I recall correctly, it was only 250 words, which made it pretty difficult. The UMiami ambassador told us that they offer the Premiere to less than 5% of all applicants. If you have any other questions, I can scrounge up the information.
Oh also, she was EA not ED.
Does anyone know when ED comes out. Is it this Friday by any chance?
For the past four years, it has come out on the second Friday of December. December 13, 2019; December 11, 2020; December 10, 2021; and December 9, 2022. If this pattern holds true, decisions should be out this Friday. But U Miami is cryptic and has been saying mid-to-late December. Iām not sure why they play this game of being coy (it seems to instill distrust in their word), but apparently theyāve said the same thing for the past few years and have still released on the second Friday. I guess weāll see. I wish college admissions teams would play it straight. Itās such a weird world and theyāre toying with young peopleās emotions, which is so anxiety-inducing for a generation of young people already laden with stress and anxiety. Itās really such a lame part of the process. Good luck to you!
Postscript to say that maybe decisions have been out on the second Friday of December pre-2019, but we didnāt look into that. We checked back to 2019 only.
Yes I received an email that they would come out later in December, but they typically come out early to mid December which is why I got confused. Thank you!
My sons high school said the decision will be out the Friday the 8th
And their old parentsā emotions
Yes for sure. Iāve seen my kids through every kind of admission process at this point and much prefer the approach where the school gives a set date for release of decisions and sticks to it. Apparently there was an Instagram live yesterday from the U Miami Admissions account and the representative said mid-to-late December again. But Iām guessing theyāll release this Friday.
Ty!
The U typically releases ED decisions the 2nd Friday of December - so most likely this Friday
Is the just ED releases or EA too?
