It is pretty ironic lol. They insist that I open every college decision with them, and I normally get my acceptances while at school and I canā€™t wait. So I just pretend that I learned for the first time when the letter comes in the mail.

It actually says by 1/31. By is a big distinction. They normally will come out the last friday of the month so they dont have to deal with angry phone calls till monday, when most people will have cooled off

Does Miami make an admit/deny decision on EA applicants or will they defer some to the RD round?

They do defer, it is actually more used than reject. Most schools only reject people in EA if they are way below the admissions standard.
