University of Miami Fall 2018 Transfer

So I’ve already been accepted and I put in my deposit a couple weeks ago but I’m having some issues. On the page where it is supposed to list my transferred credits it’s just blank, and the same with my academic advisor, but apparently those should be done by now. I know that my credits should transfer since I’m at an accredited university and they were basic classes with satisfactory grades (Calc, gen chem/bio, etc.). Anyone else having this problem or something similar?

Well if you haven’t looked…you may check Canelink as my decision posted today

I just got accepted with a full scholarship. The only downside is that some credits might not transfer. ;(

Had 61 credits, but now I’m down to 49. Hopefully, I can work something out with the evaluator, ehhh…

Congrats @BuckyUM! I did also…but I don’t have anything in the transfer credit report yet so back to more waiting…

@macgeek312 Gratz! Did you also get a full scholarship?
It took them 2 days to post mine, but don’t expect anything during the weekend.

@BuckyUM what is ur scholarship? I read on their website the only scholarship for transfers is the Presidential and max is $16k?

@gigiiris I got multiple grants from the following:
Federal Work Study
Federal Pell Grant
Federal SEOG
Effective Access to Student Ed
FL Student Assistance Grant
UM Coral Grant

So for 2 semesters, almost 50k

@BuckyUM ya I got the President’s Scholarship ($15k/year) and UM Coral Grant ($30k/year) and then some federal grants to round it out :slight_smile: so looks like all the waiting (2 months) was worth it as I don’t have to take out loans and my tuition will be covered :slight_smile:

@macgeek312 Nice, what was your GPA?

@BuckyUM 3.69 with 39 credits done plus another 12 in process now. But I had a strong letter of recommendation from the professor who literally helped me choose biology and then hired me to be her TA and decently difficult classes like Anatomy and Physiology 1&2 and Orgo and Micro…so I’m guessing maybe the GPA with the difficulty of classes and letter of recommendation probably helped :). At least my least I don’t have to worry any more since the move to Florida was already decided and half done (my husband is starting his PhD in the fall down there).

@macgeek312 3.9 here with AA degree, however I believe that I got carried by my essay which was really good.
You should get some counseling regarding those 12 credits. I took Stats and political science in my last semester and I’m still unsure if they will accept it toward my Economics degree, It’s really frustrating.

Ya they don’t have anything posted for transfer yet so who knows…we shall see :slight_smile: the hard wait is over…now it is a little easier cause I can start to wrap up plans :slight_smile:

Most of my transferred courses are listed as “transfer credit elective”. Does this mean I’m going to have to repeat a lot of courses? Or are they to be determined?

@Somedudeonline13 I’m having the same dilemma, but I believe that we’ll have to repeat.

@BuckyUM That’d be a pain. I currently have like 14 of my courses listed as Transfer Credit Elective.

@Somedudeonline13 14 out of?
Oh well, at least we’re in one of the best universities in America. We made it!

I still haven’t received a decision, mine was completed march 7th does anyone have a similar situation to mine

@Smdanc Wasn’t the deadline on March 1st??

For the application which i did they lost my college report and i had to resubmit which is why ut was march 7th it was still deemed complete
