We chatted on the Purdue thread. DD also deferred at UMich. Did you apply to UMD? Wondering if decisions come out tonight or next week…
Since everyone is applying everywhere, hopefully more seats will open up for your child.
So looks like the portal astrology worked and those who were able to sign-up to the event were indeed admitted.
One person who posted that they were able to sign-up, even though they withdrew the application, could be the case where they were admitted in the system before they withdrew the app.
We also applied to UMD.
Hey there! We did apply to UMD - we’re in-state there. Also waiting on OSU today.
deferred in state
We were postponed, which I was surprised by because I thought my son just did regular decision (architecture). Didn’t know they were going to post today, maybe they wanted to beat OSU!
what is the portal astrology? Taking notes for next year’s cycle.
WOW. What is happening this year?
It looks like they have bulk deferred everyone they didn’t admit. Didnt hear any rejections.
Also, please know UMich is notorious to waitlist 3 times more applicants they admit by the RD round… dont know why they have keep so many applicants hanging this despite such a high yield.
postponed…my kid has a pretty strong profile OOS insofar as GPA, sports, leadership, ECs etc…gotten into PSU, UD Honors, Pitt so far…she went TO for UMich, but is sitting on a 1400…got deferred…advice on if she should share her score? i am kinda anti TO typically, but can’t read this green right…tough program to get into for sure. congrats to all who got in!
Able to sign-up to the admitted students events; actually getting past the calendar with available dates. This year they ■■■■ that down before several people were able to do it, so may be they will fix it for next year. We will find something else then… lol…
Did any international student get accepted? I got deferred (MechE, 1530 SAT).
do deferred in staters still have higher chance than deferred out of state
Exact same thing my daughter said.
Daughter was Postponed. OOS. For those saying they were “Deferred”… did your email actually say deferred or postponed. Does it really mean the same thing at U Mich?
An intl in the A2C discord got accepted
Yup that’s our in-state as well. DD is at PHS.
Tough call…how does that score compare to the average at her HS? She has until Feb 1 to report the score.
If I apply Early Action and answer “No” to the question, can I change my mind and choose to later report an ACT/SAT score to U-M later for Early Action consideration?
- No, Early Action candidates who respond “No” to this question on the application will be evaluated without an ACT or SAT score during our Early Action period, and if an ACT/SAT score is reported through Enrollment Connect after the submission of the application, it will not be considered as a part of our Early Action decision. However, Early Action applicants who have been postponed or Regular Decision applicants may self-report ACT/SAT scores prior to the Feb. 1, 2025 Regular Decision deadline if they would like the test scores to be added to their file for consideration.
Mine too. Is postponed the Michigan word for deferred, or does it mean something else?
