Elite is a relative term. I think of elite as HYPSM, but maybe you can call those schools “super elite.” However, Ross, CoE and at least 40 LSA programs are in the Top 10, even Top 5, in the US.
Does anyone know the exact date by when UMich will have released all decisions? I know that the website says early April.
No one knows the exact date, but Ross has published the last release date of April 19. And many assume, the timing of the final “wave” of the other schools will follow that timeline as well.
My son was accepted EA to the U Michigan art and design school but deferred for LSA. He intended to do a joint degree with one major in each school. It sounds like a fairly easy matter to add the major in the second school, assuming that you’ve kept a strong GPA freshman year, but seems smoother to just get into both up front, especially from a curriculum planning point of view (to cover all bases for both degrees). Is anyone else in this same position, in at one school but still waiting to hear from the second?
What reddit page do people use in place of this one?
@user2023user19 there’s no specific reddit page for deferred applicants but most people just make threads to discuss on r/ApplyingToCollege
when can we expect the next wave?
if we are still waiting on our deferral decision, is there a lower chance of acceptance rather than if we had found out in a previous wave?
It’s always down at that time.
Has anyone that was deferred been accepted/denied/wait listed? If not, have you heard when the decisions are coming out?
Lots of deferred, now considered RD, applicants have been admitted and a few rejected. No one here on CC has posted a waitlisted decision as of yet. Expectations are that the next wave will consist of all three decision possibilities though.
BTW, there were two decisions of acceptance from deferred EA applicants reported here on CC last week.
The next wave is expected 12:01 AM 3/29 or 9:01 PM 3/28 PST. The next Ross decisions will be released at 5:00 PM EST on 3/29.
Hopefully, there will be lots of disappearing decision tabs this week!
If I am waitlisted and accept, should I send in my second-semester grades?
is it expected that a majority of the remaining decisions will be released during the 3/29 wave?
@iconicqueen it’s hard to say with certainty, but my opinion is yes, based on the number of posts here on CC in the past. And that’s a huge assumption that CC is a representative microcosm of the greater population of remaining applicants. The estimated 3/29 wave SHOULD be the largest, larger than the previous two RD waves. And bigger than the next potential wave of 4/19.
Should I expect an LSA honors decision on Friday as well?
Ok CRUNCH Time…
Few if any EA or RD schools provided FA information along with acceptance letters. Some were a few weeks later. Some several more weeks later. Others from EA are still just coming in now.
What might we typically expect with schools releasing on March the 28th. In particular with Univ of Michigan. Hard enough to visit schools outside a local geography last minute based on acceptance alone without FA answers.
Do schools that announce on the 28th typically include Financial Aid information as well?
Jdag11
Were you already accepted?
I know that D18 plans to immediately apply for honors should she be accepted. From what I read one can only apply into honors once accepted into U of M.
Not sure how they go about notifying after applying. Curious if others have been notified on Honors on some sort of rolling basis.
Thank you - very helpful.
UMich admissions seems a prankster. Called their office and inquired about OOS COE decisions. At least now they admitted that they would prefer to wait till all the results are out on 28th to make a decision about the date. Till then its only early April.
“Do schools that announce on the 28th typically include Financial Aid information as well?”
@J123D123, I have no idea about U-M, but I was just reading Vanderbilt’s answer to that question:
“As of ______, Regular Decision applicants can log into the MyAppVU portal to access admissions decisions.
In addition, details of any need-based financial aid awards will be available via your MyAppVU portal.”
Hopefully other schools will do likewise, as we get closer and closer to May 1.
