Waitlisted Ross (OOS). Couldn’t do tour but could do friend account.
Admitted Ross (deferred EA, very low expectations)
What a closing. Shedding blue tears.
Solid independent student (parental bias), no hooks, mid-GPA, full IB Diploma, strongish SAT, expresses well, ordinary/believable ECs (did create measurable impact though), work-ex typical for a high-schooler, honest Ross portfolio, no private counselor / essay editors, uninvolved parents who couldn’t tell between RD/EA until recently.
Accepted to all OOS schools; rejected by state flagship (UW Seattle)
Lesson learnt: kids will end up where they’re meant to be; and don’t take a rejection personally, it’s almost always a “they” issue and not “you.”
