University of Michigan Class of 2029 Official RD Thread

Not to mention, of course, the rest of the world…

I hope we don’t screw up our good fortune.

No wonder US rules the roost when it comes to research and innovation.
Our universities are our biggest assets, and despite all the issues about costs etc, they have played a critical role in making America the leader of the world.

I say this as a first-gen immigrant, who loves USA, its people, and everything about it.

I really hope we don’t lose this edge in being an education powerhouse due to some silly politics.

Totally appreciate the conversation. Actually enjoying getting to know everyone better. But if any of this goes sideways, off to the Politics forum please :folded_hands:… I don’t mind sorta off topics. I think there is a lot for those reading/me to learn here. This is how I started on here. Thx.

Totally, I wouldn’t want to talk politics either, especially on this thread. Just couldn’t resist letting out my genuine concern about something I deeply value about our country.

When will my D get off the waitlist?

The next problem if there are ready to invest, is to how to invest. At my work, people don’t sell their stock options because they do not know how to invest. These are people who went to the so called top schools on CC.

School just announced that current LEAD scholars will face no adverse financial impact so long as they remain in good academic standing. IOW, UMich is doing the right thing by these kids

ETA: this came via email to LEAD scholars; the LEAD page itself has yet to be updated but my LEAD droid confirmed

@DroidsLookingFor that’s really wonderful. As I said somewhere up post Michigan tends to come through and have “their” kids backs. Just takes a bit of time to navigate all of this. I think I mentioned it but my friend’s daughter at Michigan grad school PhD also got notification that her funding will continue. Congratulations to all the Leads scholar student’s!

Did anyone hear back for CS advance selection? If not, does anyone know when it usually comes out?

I think everyone was postponed for RD and that decisions will likely come out tommorow

Waitlisted from Engineering at UMich. Been trying to contact admissions counselors but turns out a lot of them are traveling so they won’t be available for some time.

Yes I am stressed out of my mind about the waitlist, been trying to ignore that stress for these last couple of days.

Has anyone from out of state received any scholarships?

Also waitlisted eng

CS decisions are 7-10 days after RD acceptances. At least for the CoE. I am guessing today (Friday) though Monday is also a possibility.

On a similar note:

One famous Ivy biz school just changed it’s Latin motto to: Equum ad aquam ducere potes…

I’m curious if waitlisted applicants can send in a letter of continued interest, or additional letters of recommendation. Also wondering how late final waitlist decisions are typically sent out?

We will not accept any additional documents from you unless specifically requested, as they will not impact your final decision.
