You might just annoy them and turn them off

@Johnnyyxy I have SAT 2120, SAT2 Math2 800 BioE 730 and IB 39/42 on mid year report but then tbh I dont think they look at the IB scores tht much
… well thats what ppl in our school say…

@benh10 I’m pretty desperate right now…

@Johnnyyxy so I think you should keep on expressing ur feelings since not all the decisions are out yet… better to increase chances by showing passion at least

@aaskdwqa I think a high IB score like yours does help… a classmate of mine who has a 41/42 IB and around SAT 2000 has got 8 offers from NYU, UCLA so far
Of course it also depends on your EC’s and essays

@aaskdwqa I’m a bit afraid of annoying them… kinda struggling right now

@Johnnyyxy… Where did you apply? You certainly can gain admissions many place…but to be rejected and wait listed at all makes me wonder…

rejected: UCLA UCSD UCSB UCI NYU BU UofRochester Waitlisted: UIUC UMiami-FL CWRU UCD
It’s a long list… I guess I messed up with my UC application, and I only scored 600 for CR

@JCooch and there are 4 colleges left for me: BC UMich UCB PSU

I think they were much more harsh this year… I got rejected for UNC chapel hill georgia tech Washu rice and is waitlisted for ucla

@aaskdwqa yeah definitely, UMiami-FL and BU were my safeties at the beginning

My prediction…@rtv2014… Today is the day you get word…cannot say which direction. @potatoo…your day too. As for me…not today.

Why today?

hes just guessing i think

@benh10 undeclared, you?

And @jcooch… i actually trust your judgement because I value your positivity and passion lol. I think you’ll be fortunate this week (;

Why not? UMich Admissions is insisting that the magical Friday batch releases is bogus. They insist that the batches are going out daily in no particular release pattern. They insist that the decisions are ALL on the way soon with a small caveat of April 15 +/- being the latest. They insist that in no way are they waiting until the last minute to send out rejections, that in fact rejections, acceptances, and deferrals have been being released in no particular order all along…but they certainly are NOT delaying rejections until the end.

Are we all still in the game? YES! For whatever reason, YES! Until we get the “word” definitively one way or the other!

If this does not work out, I believe I will travel to Vietnam and live as an “expat” in a strange land.

****ok…probably not…but it sounds exciting and adventurous!

@jcooch aaah im nervous!!! as much as i want to hear back, i dont think im emotionally ready to hear back yet!!! good luck to everyone!!!

@johnnyyxy its not a bad thing to write a letter expressing your interest! on the official umich admissions tumblr page a few weeks ago, they actually encouraged it!!! The only thing is, is that since its almost time to hear back, it might be too late, but you never know! Go for it!!! I sent it to both my admissions counselor and her intern (because i know the admissions counselor was so busy she might not be reading her emails). when i sent it to her intern i asked her if she would please place it into my file so it would be seen and considered when i am reviewed! she replied saying she would (and it wasn’t the generic email that they send back, she actually wrote it because we discussed other things as well). Good luck!
