My son was admitted today to Ross ![]()
Congrats.
Can you share stats? In/oos?
Would it be reasonable to assume that all who were not accepted were deferred?
A college counselor was on Instagram live and noted that there had been some outright denials today.
Does anyone have admission stats on ED?
You probably wonât know till summer if they release them at all. It just happened and not everyone will martriculate. Too early to know for sure.
does anyone know if EA admits are stronger than ED
First time they did ED and wonât have that information for months but itâs all relative at Michigan when the avg LSA student has a 3.9 unweighted with a 32-35 Act.
Wish they would be more transparent about the process like UGA and UVA who provide so much information on the ED and/or EA process.
Well, itâs their first year offering ED. What information do UGA and UVA provide that UMich does not? Honest question.
For UVA for last weekâs ED decisions, they posted the # of total applications they got in the aggregate (both in state and out of state) and number of overall admits, and then broke it down and provided the the # of in state applications they got and # of in-state acceptances they sent out and # of out of state applications they got and the # of out of state acceptances they sent out.
UGA doesnât have ED but provided a ton of info for In state and Out of State EA. The admissions director has a blog on their website that is very informative and heâs active answering questions. Even though itâs Michiganâs first year doing ED, Iâm sure they are aware of what other schools, especially flagship state schools/overlaps are doing. Michigan hasnât been good about providing the info even in EA and they have had EA for years.
another example of an admissions director who is active and transparent and has a great blog.
UVA is exceptionally transparent. You can see the data going back years here: Notes from Peabody: The UVA Application Process
I do wish more public institutions felt obligated to provide this sort of information.
For great admissions blog check out Georgia Tech. Rick Clark is the master of admissions blogs.

That is nice to see, for sure. Maybe once they have some ED years under their belt UMich will do something similar.
Doubt it. They are clearly not applicant friendly as shown by all the deferrals of EA applicants every year.
I am not here to defend what Michigan does. Just a volunteer. But I hear this yearly. Just so I understand would you rather them not give people another chance to gain admission? They have a different protocol then lots of schools. Those apps get second /third looks. Would it actually be better to just reject the majority of people day 1? They also slow walk it so they can fill their classes properly.
I know. Other schools do it X way so why canât they?
I am not sure which way I would rather have it?
I mean, theyâre going to have to make decisions at some point, why not make them when they ask for the early applications?
