University of Michigan Early Action

My daughter applied early action in mid-September of 2009 in her sr. year. She received her acceptance letter mid-November (a surprise, as we were anticipating a decision closer to Christmas). Many of her classmates who waited until the last day of the early action deadline received decisions closer to Christmas (as a matter of fact, one decision came Christmas Eve, so that Mom wrapped up the letter and put under the tree). One of my daughter’s friends waited to apply until the first week of November (after early action deadline) to the college of engineering. He was initially deferred in January but then received an acceptance letter in late February. So, it truly does seem to be a “rolling admissions” process. My son just completed his application to the college of engineering on October 31. We haven’t heard a thing yet, but will certainly post when we do hear!
