University of Michigan Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

hi guys,

i had a question regarding transcripts. how long does u of m accept transcripts pass the feb one deadline? i submitted my transcripts to common app before the deadline but they’re still being processed. i talked to an admissions person today and they said i should be okay but it wasn’t guaranteed technically they would see my application due to availability. anyone have any knowledge on this? they also told me they keep the window for transfer students open a little longer but does anyone have an approximate timeline?

Hello,

Current school : Oregon state univeristy

Gpa: 3.90

Major : Economics

Ielts&toefl = ielts 7.0 , which worth 100~105 in toefl.

Ethnicity = Korean

Credit : 44 credit in quarter, will get 30 more b4 i get into u mich.

EC = few awards, 3 of internships (2 months each)

I dropped out of Highschool, and immediately took ged. (Got 88, B+)

Would it be possible to be accepted???

These questions can’t be answered for sure and are only going to give you false hope/ false disappointment. No one knows because Umich accepts/ denies people very sporadically and their process is odd. I would just wait until a decision comes out. If you’re really curious, look at other threads and compare yourself to people; however, keep in mind that there is always a chance of you being denied even if you have perfect stats. Good luck!

I’m applying to LSA undeclared. Can anyone chance me? I’m an international student from South Korea.

I took a time off because of South Korea’s mandatory military service, so I’m currently not enrolled in any college level courses.

Ethnicity: Asian

Family income: 200k+

Toefl: 112

Current school: top 100 state college,
took 32 credits, 3.97 GPA

High school: went to a pretty normal public high school in South Korea. I was just a normal student, did nothing so extraordinary.

EC:

  1. Currently serving at the GOP, a demilitarized zone military facility, as a combat signaler (I contributed to a mission to safely transport a North Korean defector to South Korea.).
  1. 1 month internship at an international organization. (I translated a manual for schizophrenia treatment which was later used at a national level mental health workshop.)
  2. Volunteered at a board meeting of an international organization for 1 week.
  3. worked for my school’s student journal for 1 semester
  4. Math tutor for 1 semester
  5. High school orchestra (3 years, 1st cello for two years)
  6. College orchestra (1 year, 1st cello for a semester)
  7. 1 year of volunteering at a rehabilitation hospital.
  8. 1st place in my school’s research competition (received a small amount of scholarship)

Honors:
Dean’s list all semesters

Recommendations: two from professors, one from my supervisor when I worked as a math tutor at my current school (who’s also a professor)

I’m really worried about not having enough college credits and my high school transcripts…

Hey guys, a quick question. Does UMich look at the experiences folder in the common app? I had only put two experiences down at the time of submitting my app cuz someone told me I could just update it later but now i looked into it and UMich doesnt receive my updates. Im gonna call tomorrow but anyone have any advice?

Admitted!!!

Hi, Im wondering if my chances be higher getting into UM considering Im coming from a big ten school (Penn state)??

Hi, I am wondering are the results out for everyone or are they releasing them day by day? Since I still have not heard back yet. My checklist was complete from the beginning. Should I email them?
