After learning about Gratz v. Bollinger and Grutter v. Bollinger, I find it difficult to respect Michigan.

Tough call, with Michigan costing ~45k and NYU costing ~45k (sans Room/Board).

I would be livid to have to pay twice the amount in-state residents pay on top of feeling like an alienated outsider, being a geographical minority.

Michigan Literature/Science/Arts isn’t exactly Berkeley EECS to justify that sort of treatment.

On the other hand, you will not get the traditional college experience at NYU. And, it will be difficult for you to find your niche, especially if you don’t dorm and given the nature of city life. It will be hard, but much more possible, for you to feel comfortable at Michigan.

Although, in my opinion, NYU is better than Michigan in many respects (Law, Medicine, Business), Michigan is the better choice for you.
