<p>Academically, I would give NYU the slight edge. While DukeDevil1170 is right about grad school, but NYU undergrad is better than UMich, since state schools are usually less selective for undergrad due to state mandates. </p>
<p>College life is definitely better at UMich. Sports and spirit is big at UMich. NYU has a commuter school feel. For me, making friends in college is equally as important as academics, especially for undergrad. Grad school is where you hone your academic acumen. </p>
<p>I think cost would be comparable if you commute to NYU versus OOS for UMich, where you have to pay for room and board.</p>
<p>So at the end of the day, it’s whether you value academic more or college life more.</p>
