University of Notre Dame, RISD, or UC Berkeley for architecture?

B.Arch holders do not need a M.Arch. They are equivalent degrees. M.Arch. is for students that do 4 year BA/BS degrees that aren’t labeled as such, but are essentially pre-architecture programs. For that reason alone, and this is no offense to UCB, but to all pre-architecture programs, I’d choose a 5 year B.Arch. program.

The counter argument is that students who choose the BA/BS pre-architecture plus M.Arch. route get a more rounded education. That comes with additional costs in both school expenses and lost income.
