Mine was deferred as well. Also had the drop down menu the entire time.

Just reposting my thoughts for those that, like me, got deferred…

"Love the school that loves you back.ā€ I understood it, but never really ā€œgot itā€ until recently. Clemson was my dream school for a long time - likely because I hadn’t really researched any other schools, I liked the success of the sports teams and loved the location.

Fast-forward to last year - I did in-depth research and visited other schools. While Clemson was no longer my one and only, it remained in my top 5 or 6. After witnessing the cluster of Clemson EA (and now U of SC) and what I see as a somewhat arbitrary and rushed application review process, I’ve grown to dislike it - mind you, I was deferred so this may sound like sour grapes. If I’m being honest, maybe it is and maybe that’s the point - "Love the school that loves you back.ā€

I’ve been accepted to a few of my top choices and am waiting for a few more and of those that accepted me, I love them even more!

Good luck! I hope you find true love

Do you know when Honors College decisions will come out? I think I read mid-February??

Were you asking me the major? Exercise Science. Yes we were surprised. He is In NHS, 7 AP classes, rest honors. 3 sport varsity athlete, captain of one, Club President, part time job…

Wow, I am shocked. Maybe that is a very competitive major? I’m sure he’ll be admitted in the next round. Still, it stings.

Are there any denials or was everyone not admitted just deferred until March?

Haven’t heard yet

Where did you find out about merit? In the portal?

Does anyone have any insight into how scholarships work? D23 OOS got in with merit (at least 40,000) but with 10 APs + 2IBs, 4.0 unweighted, and a 1420 on the SAT plus strong extracurriculars and 200+volunteer hours, we thought she might qualify for a higher bracket.

This was what we got two years ago and what we got in March that year. What I was told is that usc recalculates to their own scale so what your high school gpa is might not be what it is at usc. And that’s what they base it off of.
