Best of luck to you!
UVa has higher OOS sticker prices than most other state universities.
Per Kiplinger, the OOS COA is ~$58K for UVa vs. ~$47K for UNC.
This doesn’t necessarily mean you’d get a lower net cost for either one than you would from a ~peer private school that also claims to meet full need.

For some of the schools on that list (plus a couple of Oregon schools), below are the net price estimates I get for an Oregon family with $120K/y income, 1 child, $60K in cash savings, and $60,000 in home equity:
$24,696 University of Oregon (with $6K “Summit Scholarship”)
$29,750 Colorado College
$29,800 Duke University
$29,837 Pomona College
$29,964 Cornell University
$30,480 Northwestern University
$32,550 Reed College
$36,962 UNC-CH
$38,037 UVa
Your Mileage May Vary.
For different inputs, the order and price spread among these schools might change.
Below are net price estimates I get for an Oregon family with $80K/y income, 1 child, $40K in cash savings, and $40,000 in home equity:
$16,071 Pomona College
$16,730 Northwestern
$17,800 Duke University
$18,450 Colorado College
$18,750 Reed College
$18,776 Cornell University
$23,195 UNC-CH
$24,271 UVa
$24,696 University of Oregon (with $6K “Summit Scholarship”)
Thanks for pulling that info together. Very useful.
