I love this comment! Would probably be just as successful there as any tho! Fingers crossed for you and your son. This is a reach for my son as well…
Same. Covid sucked. 4.0 for 3 years but C’s and D’s freshman year. Kid couldn’t get out of bed. At some point I had to quit preaching and nagging and just start caring for him.
I think they will have a good shot. If I were a recruiter I would be impressed that someone rebounded from that and did so well. It shows grit and adaptability. So many schools say it is the upward trend that is most important and that they don’t look at freshman year as much. My kid knew applying here would be a shot in the dark. We will both be very surprised if he gets accepted.
Yes, I understand what you are saying. Some people like to dog on kids’ generation, but the truth is it will take our kids a long time to recover from the effect COVID had on their development. Loving them is the best we can do for them. Good on you!
No ID in our view. But really, let’s just stop with these “tell” signs. You’re all freaking me out and others too here. 2 more weeks folks.
I don’t think OregonMom or anyone else in this discussion is intentionally trying to freak anyone out. I’m sure you weren’t trying to do that 6 days ago when you were participating in discussions about “tells”. I think we all just need to practice a little kindness and if we don’t like the way the conversation is going, don’t log in for a bit rather than trying to control others and the way they process their anxiety.
Calling someone out for naive comments made 6 days ago isn’t exactly kind. Thx for that.
Are you sure you’re looking in the right place?
I wasn’t trying to be unkind and I don’t think your comment was naive at all. You’re in the same boat as all of us, worried and processing.
Frankly , I’m only here for the “tells” … like many I assume… some schools are operating sub-par and compromised software that “reveal” things when they make changes … they know this already I’m sure… doesnt’ seem to prevent the latest #PSUbound faux-pas and the UTK SRAR “reset”…How do you think we are able to even afford exurbanite cost of top tier colleges… by looking for “tells” in our daily life… and capitalizing on them…the boss not “telling” us the truth regarding a promotion…the CFO changing jobs mid - quarter… the relator not “telling” us about storm damage but their body language giving it away… just random examples… oh, and our ID number on the “Applicant Profile” tab ; " Address Details" button was different the first time logging in today… it read 0000100001 …I think… after refresher now it has some other numbers, can’t seem to recreate it though… but it was different… anyone else?.. we’re OOS /TO and avg stats.
Yes I’m all for the tells. Good way to pass the time. If you don’t want to play that’s fine. I’m stuck on a couch recovering from knee surgery and bored.
My D had that happen today to her ID today too. It’s reverted back.
We have a bunch of different numbers
Ok, so what if a kid’s id number changed? Why would that indicate an acceptance more than a rejection?
Its very likely for decisions to come out Jan 26th as its the last friday of the month
I think the speculation of supposed tells is kind of fun, personally, but I had to quit asking my son of he has any of them bc he thinks it’s silly too. And I don’t have his login info so I’m not able to check myself. Last thing I want to do is stress him out, so I just lurk on here a bit every day. But yes, I’m thinking we won’t know anything for sure until 1/26! We can do this!
Same. My kid has an ID number listed
applicant profile
contact details=ID listed at the top, not sure if this changed or not
*I think this is kinda fun, we are like Inspector Gadgets, or maybe Nancy Drew??
Also, my guess would be if we could figure out areas where some students are allowed to view, then they may be admitted, and areas some aren’t area to view.
Everyone have a diploma address in their portal? We do
Can anyone access UW doodle
I do have the diploma address in there
Yep
