University of Wisconsin Early Action Fall 2024 Admissions

Idk

So do we know yet what having the ID number means?

Can you explain how to get to this like I’m a three year old?

Nevermind. I found it.

I think everyone has an ID number at this point.

THIS is why I labor over C/C site day in and day out … for these ā€œtellsā€ā€¦ thank you for sharing !
Diploma address editable link is present , also added U-W Madison Doodle tile to MyUW (my.wisc.edu) via the search magnifying glass…look top right corner for student’s first last initials in a circle buble… hit the down carrot and you should see your student’s netID followed by @wisc.edu. Feeling good about this one!

Where do you find diploma address? Or doodle? Can someone do a screen shot?

I was able to add doodle and it shows my sons name with the school email but there is no student ID above the email address. We only see the student id on personal info.

I don’t think the student email in Doodle is necessarily a tell, particularly if all of us are seeing it.

After going through this process with Penn State, UTK, and Purdue, I’m kind of impressed at how locked down the UW portal seems compared to the others. Or maybe it’s still too far out.

Yes. I agree. There is no tell when everyone has the same thing! Additionally, I think we are too far out for UW-Madison. In previous years those tells came close to release… day of or a day before.

This is how it went down last year - I had a kid who was playing all the portal astrology at the time. There were changes in the portals, but they came in the last 24 hours or so I think.

And it is totally possible they are changing how they roll out thisyear.

Also last year MANY OOS students were deferred and disappointed during EA. They have a lot more OOS apps than they did in the past and I think are still learning how to figure out yield, etc. because they over enrolled a couple years back.

No ID in the portal or on doodle?

ā€œsee your student’s netID followed by @wisc.eduā€

I believe what they mean is the netID (you should not see number ID in the doodle) the email address seems to be netID + the wisc.edu

Oh like ABsmith@syr.edu. We have that. I was thinking they showed a number and the email address

We certainly saw this at our high school in Illinois … lots of deferrals from EA. And at the other end of the process, we saw lots of kids ended up coming off the waitlist.

Question … does the Wisconsin School of Business fill up in EA? Does a deferral mean those slots are gone? Or does it mean you are on the bubble for admit, which puts you out of range of a selective program (like business)? At Maryland, for example, I’ve heard the business school fills up before RD.

I am assuming that once they do RD admits the business school is full. And coming in later off the waitlist means being pre-business. But I don’t know what is realistic in RD.

All thoughts and info appreciated! Thanks!

Most business school admits at Madison are all pre-business - direct admits to the business school are extremely selective in any round.

THEN if you do get in for pre-business you are required to apply again to be directly admitted in the following year (which is not guaranteed) after you’ve completed the prerequisites and even then you only get one attempt to get in again.
