Update: Guess who's employed?!?

Congratulations and good luck!!!

Thank you all so much for the well-wishes and good thoughts! I’m VERY excited; it will be a really great opportunity to build my resume and work with some great people.

Tomorrow I’m going car shopping with my dad; my credit union has approved me for a really great loan even without proof of income and I have my eye on a very nice 2013 VW Tiguan. It’s certified pre-owned and was previously a courtesy vehicle so has insanely low mileage and good maintenance records. I’m going to have to talk them down a bit on the price but I think it shouldn’t be a problem. Here’s hoping! My '99 Chrysler just isn’t a valid option anymore (but it got me through grad school, which was the goal.) I also have a couple other options in mind in case the Tiguan doesn’t work out, but that’s what I’m hoping for right now. It’s a little surreal how quickly all of this is happening; so many big life changes at once, but so exciting!

Congratulations!

Thank you for sharing great news.
