Yes, this all makes sense. Although seeing how they messed it up so badly, they have probably learned that honesty is in fact a better policy than whatever it is they’re doing now
So you figure she needs six months to pack her suitcases? Just waiting until the school year is done?
Didn’t say I believe those rumors.
I’ve thought from the beginning that it was an elective surgery that some may look down upon, such as an abortion. If it was something like Chrons, I would think they would spin it into a cause that she supports.
I’ve wondered about this, too, esp. since high dose steroids are one reasonable explanation for refusing to provide even a ‘proof of life’ photo. She could hide the colostomy in a photo, but not the Cushingoid facies. (Disclaimer: I’m an MD but this well outside of my area of expertise, so this is all pure conjecture. Paging GI docs on this forum!)
I’m starting to think that this would be the least sinister explanation for her continued absence. The Royal Family surely knows that they have a PR disaster here (and even a potential succession crisis, with Charles now out as well). The fact that they haven’t put this to rest means that something really bad is going on.
Like plastic surgery? No way it’s an abortion - that’s a quick recovery.
I have thought this was Crohns w a severe flare necessitating urgent action and a colostomy, ever since the news broke of the duration of recovery etc. Just my outsider-MD opinion. I wish her the best and understand why she would need a lot of time to heal away from cameras, have infusions/steroids and the rest without having the public analyzing her looks.
If it had been an abortion would have been early in pregnancy and via pills and not much time needed for recovery at all.
Not exactly on thread point BUT… At what point does the public’s “right to know” trump medical privacy? Kate while a public figure is not “in charge” of the military, making political decisions etc. She’s a “public face” so to speak. If she said “absolutely not” to any disclosure of her condition (misguided or not) would/should anybody be ethical in disclosing it?
I hadn’t been keeping up with non-medical explanations. Interesting. …. I’m going to add from my own brain, but maybe it’s out there too, I was baffled by Harry’s short 15 min visit with his father after his medical issues were announced. But now it makes perfect sense that they needed to tell Harry about the pregnancy in person. And on hearing it he thanked his lucky stars he was out of the family and returned immediately to the US.
I really do hope it’s just recovering time and inept palace PR. But I have become minorly obsessed with finding out what’s actually going on.
Their marriage is undoubtedly not flawless but I think William very well knows there is no chance he could have an affair and keep it secret after everything that played out with his parents, and they didn’t even live in this digital age. I also can’t imagine he wants anything but a stable and devoted marriage for the very same reason, though I can’t say I personally know him to know that to be true, however I would never be convinced of any rumor regarding an affair. Perhaps they will divorce, marriages with this much external pressure and scrutiny surely are at a greater risk of that, but I’d be shocked if it were because of an affair.
Alternatively, it could all be true. She has Crohn’s and has a colostomy bag and is dealing with all the after-effects AND she doesn’t feel like getting the BRF out of this mess because there are the issues with her marriage and that people working with the BRF may have been providing assistance to her husband in having his affair (and allegedly having a lovechild together).
Said by someone who didn’t know that there were rumors about the Wales’ marriage being potentially on the rocks until this thread.
I haven’t watched the series myself, but it seems The Crown is going to have to gear up for some additional seasons in the upcoming future.
There is no succession crisis. Even if Charles’ reign is short, he has a 41-year-old son with 3 children of his own.
Does a child born out of wedlock fall into the line of succession?
I’m just asking for general knowledge. If William fathered a child out of wedlock, would that child fall in the succession line behind Prince Louis?
We’ve watched most of The Crown episodes (up until William is in college). I’m sort of glad that Queen Elizabeth is not around to see the current mess. Of course, perhaps it would have played out differently on her watch - who knows.
No.
I absolutely respect her right to privacy: she owes nothing to the public. I’m just saying that ‘The Firm’ has a crisis, and largely of their own making. If they hadn’t released that doctored photo, it would have been fine: i.e., Kate had a health crisis and needs time to heal in privacy.
But then they lied and said that Wills took that photo, which was a lie on two levels: a. he’s probably never taken a photo in his entire life but now we’re supposed to believe that he’s a professional photographer?.., and worse, b. that photo was never even taken in the first place.
And then ‘The Firm’ tripled down on their lies and threw Kate under the bus by making her apologize for her amateur photoshop skills (or even more likely, pretended to be her doing so, which is even worse.)
I believe that Kate is actually a victim here, who’s being thrown to the wolves now that she’s bred a few heirs. Just as was Diana (and even worse, Meghan, although that’s a whole other thread!)
Not literally, but if Kate is incapacitated and Charles can’t reign for long, then Wills becomes King as a single dad with 3 little kids, including the next heir just one year out of his short pants. (God Forbid. I’m not saying that that’s what I’m rooting for!)
I’ve seen this said with conviction here several times but I’m not seeing where the ‘editing’ means it was never taken. Was it proven anywhere credible that the editing wasn’t just taking the best of everyone in the series of pics taken?
