There are really several things this could be, so I don’t know how anyone could really guess one particular one with any degree of certainty. Her being in the Royal Family also adds a layer of uncertainty just because of the way they do things. 
Right. But then there was enough detail given for there to be specific speculation. Of course with my proposal, there might be a guessing game on cancer, brain issues and all kinds of other scary things too. But personally I think very general would have been the better way.

Alternatively, one can simply not speculate on her dx or tx. Just because she’s a public figure doesn’t mean she owes the world a detailed explanation.

My hunch is that the break until Easter is to give her extra time to heal and regain her energy. We all know that as soon as she steps out in public, everyone on the planet will be looking at her energy levels, appearance, etc. She has a very busy life with the kids and public appearances – she needs to be 110% ready when she resumes that public life.

Right, I had a torn meniscus and I got out of every obligation for 6 weeks. I think I declared it wasn’t safe to take the boys to indoor swim practice for the entire season, lest I slip and fall.
And it’s not like she can ease back into things with her sweatpants on; she has to show up in heels on day one.
Most likely all of this is simply to get her back to 100%.

I have to admire Sarah Ferguson for coming out now twice with her diagnoses; breast cancer and melanoma. And Charles’ prostate treatment was candidly announced.

I wonder what’s going on. No sign of Kate…not even a photo of her thanking well-wishers like Charles did.
I hope she is recovering. I admit William’s last minute cancellation has me a bit worried.
I’ve read it has nothing to do with Kate or the news of Thomas Kingston’s death, but it all seems so strange.

I figured it was a heart attack.
Why do you think a heart attack? If so, at this point don’t you think they would have at least a photo of her working from home or something? Maybe she had a bad reaction to the anesthesia?
Not much of a royal watcher, but I wondered if the
Princess of Wales perhaps has an eating disorder, or a medical issue as a consequence? Not to body-shame, but to me she has always seemed an unhealthy under-weight.

Had dinner with some medical friends last week and the thought was perhaps a hysterectomy plus some kind of plastic surgery that would make recovery longer.
I hope it’s something like that, I agree that Prince William’s latest cancellation is concerning.

Prince William could have had the 24 stomach bug, which is running rampant.
I don’t think it had anything to do with the death of his second cousin once removed’s husband.
But where is Kate?? Can they please just post some proof of life??
I feel like awful MM is making the most of Kate being under the radar. Every day it seems a new picture of her is circulating.
I’m not a royal family enthusiast, and most days I don’t know where Kate is, so today is like any other day for me.
With that said, conspiracy Twitter is in overdrive about Kate, and makes for highly entertaining reading! (I can’t call Twitter ‘X’, sorry/not sorry Elon)
