Yes we did.

CollegeDad8 is right, interviews are purely informational now, they have no bearing on the admission process.

We did. It was to submit W2s and some other tax docs. No idea if it means anything, just crossing fingers, toes and lighting candles.

With the exception of dual-degree programs like M&T (at least from what I’ve heard)

That’s what others are saying on the internet

Are you saying if dual degree, it could mean something positive? Child applied for M&T.

My interpretation is that all M&T applicants get interviews (or at least they try to), and those interviews are considered.

This hasn’t been confirmed and I’ve heard conflicting reports by equally credible sources (some from people who have worked with Penn Admissions), so take this with a (very diluted) grain of salt.

Do you know if these interviews were conducted by AOs or alum?

I hadn’t heard that…? I believe/think/assume/have heard that colleges would check FAFSA and CSS automatically in some automated way early on, for all applicants, and only dive into the nitty-gritty in February or March if a candidate’s application was still in play or had survived an initial first-stage cut. A financial-aid officer on Reddit confirmed that in a very general way last week, saying they’d only do manual check – poking into IDOC documents – for students still in play OR in response to an inquiry from the applicant.

can you send a link to this reddit post?

All of them alumni from what I’ve seen. I’ve never heard of AOs conducting M&T interviews (there are only a handful of them anyways and they’re overworked)

Does anyone know if Penn considers legacy status?

Yes, they do.

Did anyone get a “friendly reminder “ email to upload missing financial aid. Is that a sign or just normal stuff. I hate the long wait it’s making me delusional

I got that 10 days ago and then uploaded the necessary documents.

There was an article in the DP last year about how it is not considered as much as it used to be

I was just wondering if they considered it at all.

It was probably a general reminder email to all applicants. My son received one but when we checked the FA portal, all documents were checked off so no need to upload anything further.

Just wanted to link what I was talking about
