UPenn (ED) 2024

For the ED round, likely letters are sent mostly to athletes, and possibly some minorities I believe. Likely letters are mostly utilized in regular decision to attract desirable students to enroll.

Regarding SAT Subject Tests, I emailed Penn Admissions around a week ago and was told “You can self-report these scores in your Penn Portal.” On the portal there is a place to upload CollegeBoard score reports, but on the admissions website it says only official scores will be considered. I rush-ordered official score reports to be on the safe side (though their official/unofficial policy for SATII/SAT is a bit weird
) but I assume it is ok to just have the self-report since that is what it appears they’ve been saying (according to others on this forum as well). Took 3 business days for these official tests to be recorded on the Penn Portal.

TL;DR Personally I’d rush report if that’s 1) financially feasible and 2) likely to be a boost on your app. But according to admissions email self-report is okay too.

Good luck to everybody! Only 9 more days (potentially)!

Did any of you apply to Huntsman ED?

I called up penn two days ago and they said that they accept self reported sat Subject scores only if you’re domestic and non athlete

Based on Reddit I guess 13th is confirmed now?

Technically no one really knows until they email us the date which should be sometime this week. But yea it definitely seems like the 13th

What’s on reddit?

There’s a post on Reddit that showed a likely letter to some student applying to Wharton saying that they’ll likely admit them on Dec. 13th, 2019 probably meaning that the admission decisions for all students will be on Dec. 13th

Someone received a likely letter that said something like “we intend to officially admit you to the Class of 2024 on December 13 2019.”

Ah, got it.

Yes, As per Reddit post, we all assume the decision will be out on Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:00 PM. I assume none of 2024 ED applicants got any official email from admissions indicating this. Last year Penn admissions sent official emails to ED applicants with a notification of decision date and time. Can anyone from Class of 2023 ED confirm this?

@annacoupons yes, my DD applied ED last year and admissions sent an email approximately a week ahead of time with the day and time ED admissions would be posted on portals

@annacoupons yes, admissions sent D19 an email with the ED decision notification date and time. Best of luck to everyone!

My counselor called in today for another reason, but they said they are almost done with reviewing apps, and decisions will come out on the 15th.

So that would be a Sunday though
that doesn’t sound very likely but who knows. Hopefully we will receive an email soon!

Did you guys self report your AP scores or send them officially?

On a discord group chat of Penn 2024 ED applicants, someone posted the screenshot of the likely letter that his friend received. On the letter, it noted that decisions would be released on the 13th! I was kinda hoping it would come out earlier, but I think we have good reason to believe it’s the 13th??

@dsfjlciodsfljk Most of us on the discord said though that the letter was fake. The person who posted it didn’t know where it came from I thought.

For the past two years, decisions have come out on the 13th.
