@Palak786 Ugh! That’s not a good strategy, IMHO. Without even taken a step on another campus, you’re already assuming that Penn is superior? You’re mistaken to think that Penn (or any other school) is automatically so much superior to whatever other school you may be considering.
Honestly, you should move on. If it becomes apparent that, after giving it a chance, your other college isn’t for you, THEN consider looking to transfer.
This is akin to marrying someone, planning on leaving them after a brief period, to pursue an ex.
Do they send snail mail letter to defers and rejects too?
@geester314 I know many schools will NOT send a paper letter to anyone who checks the decision via the online portal. Waste of $ and trees.
Penn snail mail letters in the US are just for acceptances, I believe.

I would be very careful about that. Any dropped classes are reported to Penn. Each situation is different, but in general it is important to maintain your rigor and grades.
