UPenn Huntsman CO2024

Well, I applied back in October. I could have applied ED, but I just didn’t want to commit myself to anything that early in the process, so I chose the RD plan.

I know they’re still taking RD applications. Do you think they only start sending out interview invitations once applications are closed, so starting January 5?

I’m applying RD for Spanish. Still working on my app. Most likely will get rejected though because I never took the SATII for language & my frosh/soph year grades in Spanish were Bs.

Were you interviewed by a an alum that was in Huntsman?

Does anyone know around how many of the 45 Huntsman spots are filled with ED applicants?

I talked to Marco Alves (associate director of the Huntsman Program) and he told me that 36 out of the 48 spots are ED applicants and the other 12 are through RD. That’s the reason why I did ED!

That’s shocking. How did you contact him? I wrote an e-mail to the admissions office because of my European qualifications 6 weeks ago and haven’t received an answer yet…

Oh 36? That’s great! I’m glad I applied ED.

I actually visited Penn in September and scheduled a meeting with him where he briefed me on the program. And yeah  ED is around 36 admitted!!!

Were all of your interviewers Huntsman alumni? Or did they graduate from different programs?

Mine was a Huntsman alum. Class of 2019.

Hey all, I applied to the Huntsman Program as well. I grew up in China and moved to America three years ago. My target language is Japanese. My interview was with a Lauder alum, Lauder is basically the graduate version of Huntsman. Anyways, results are coming out in less than 24 hours, and I wish you all luck! I know this has been a difficult process, but you will all end up where you want to be.

I got rejected haha

My D applied RD. She has a Skype interview next week. For those that have interviewed, can you tell me what to expect? Was it typical informal questions or more specific? Did the interviewer read your application prior and know your background? Any input would be greatly appreciated. As RD my D knows it’s a long shot but the Huntsman program and Tulane’s Altman (very similar) perfectly align with her background and goals.
