Well then, we are certain there’s movement on the wl. Congratulations to your daughter ![]()
Has anyone heard anyone get off the CAS waitlist? Or does CAS usually start after the other colleges?
usually CAS takes off more right? why haven’t they yet.
Does anyone know if anyone has gotten off the waitlist for Wharton?
Penn’s admission rate this year is only 4.9%, and a total of 3,530 offers have been issued.
Do these indicate that the admission process is over?
“ Vice Provost and Dean of Admissions Whitney Soule announced a 4.9% acceptance rate for the Class of 2029 — Penn’s most selective year on record — at the University Board of Trustees spring meeting on June 13.
Out of the 72,544 students who applied to Penn this application cycle, 3,530 were accepted. The Class of 2029 consists of 2,420 students from 49 states and 95 countries, with 15.1% from Pennsylvania. 13.6% are legacy students.”
No its still running
No. Each year, Penn admits approximately 3,500 students on “Ivy Day” in order to yield a class of approximately 2,400. The waitlist exists to allow Penn to manage the yield and achieve their enrollment goal of ~2400.
any ideas on when CAS will start moving?
if only i knew
i wish there was more transparency with this process. i know that is easier said than done.
congrats to everyone who got in
now if only Penn would hand over my CAS rejection, I could finally be in peace
i wonder if penn will only send decisions on thursdays or if there’s a chance of the notification email being sent any day of the week?
I do not think there has been much movement with CAS yet. There is no way to know unless we call the admissions office (who will give us an ambiguous response) or ask those who have insider connections. Regardless, UPENN extended waitlist is not the worst possible thing to occur.
Is there another way we could reach you?
“We are writing to let you know that we anticipate being able to extend a small number of offers to students on our wait list in the coming weeks and plan to close the wait list by mid-July.” It hasn’t even been two weeks yet let’s be calm.
For international students, I sent this email today
“Hello,
I hope this email finds you well.
I’m currently on the waitlist as an international student for entry this coming fall, and I recently accepted the offer to remain on the extended waitlist. I’m incredibly grateful to still be considered.
Given the current situation and uncertainty surrounding international students in the U.S., I’ve been feeling quite anxious and worried and was hoping to ask whether these factors might affect my chances of being admitted off the waitlist.
I completely understand the office is likely very busy at this time, but I would truly appreciate any feedback or clarification you’re able to share, entirely at your discretion.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
” if they respond I’ll let you guys now as I’m sure you’re all very worried too
Thank you very much. They should get off work. We can’t get the answer today.
Have you received the reply from the admissions office?
This is what they said, it’s super vague and doesn’t even answer my question.
Dear ,
Thank you for your message and your continued interest in Penn. At this time, we are unsure if we will be able to admit any additional students from the waitlist. We encourage all students to make sure they secure a place for the fall by following the enrollment guidelines for the school to which to they have received an offer of admission.
Sincerely,
Penn Admissions
