The damage is not done.
My community college transcripts are riddled with 5 D’s, 6 F’s and numerous W’s. Then I dropped out with a 1.10 GPA. Hahaaaa
I took several years off, went back to community college & got straight-A’s in every course until I was ready to transfer.
My major is Business Administration & I was just accepted into 11/12 colleges… including UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, USF, and Cal Poly SLO. Cal Poly’s business major has an 8% acceptance rate & they accepted me of all people with a transcript like that.
UC Santa Barbara awarded me a huge merit scholarship based on my new grades even though my transcript was a mess in the beginning. UCSB gave me full tuition & half of housing & meal plan. Cal Poly SLO also selected me as a Cal Poly Scholar based on my grades & awarded me full tuition plus a little left over for books & a $900 credit at their bookstore to buy myself a new laptop of my choice.
I visited UC Davis & UC Santa Barbara and both of their Academic Counselors told me don’t worry about my bad grades from several years ago because they are not admitting that person who I used to be, they are admitting the person who I am today. Keep getting straight-A’s… you also just might get your college education paid for which I never even considered.
