Urgent UChicago question

Is it true that the University of Chicago doesn’t award A+s?

And I have a non-academic letter of recommendation from a politician (whom I interned with). Do you recommend I send it in as well? There is no place on the common app website so I’m assuming that the politicians office would just send it to UChicago manually? From what I can tell, it’s a pretty strong letter.

I would greatly appreciate any responses as soon as possible, since I am applying early action!
Thanks in advance!

Here is the grading scale used at the undergraduate and graduate levels at UChicago (College grading is on the left hand side): [Office of the Registrar](http://registrar.uchicago.edu/students/gradingsystems.shtml)
An “A+” is not a necessary distinction as the grade point value for an A+ and an A grade are the same, at 4.0.
