Hi AHN…First, my standard disclaimer: I hate “chancing”. I don’t like a person having their hopes dashed or expectations set unrealistically high by people who are not intimate with the process at a particular institution.

That said…************** determines their “odds” by what members enter as their stats and admission decision. I am reasonably certain that there is some really bad data on the UR section of that site.

I think your grades , courses and ECs give you a reasonable shot. I would try to bring your ACT up. Are you planning on taking SAT? I think UR really looks for diversity. Focus on your essay. Everything else is just numbers but your essay will sell you. Think of it as your job interview. It is your best opportunity to show Admissions why they want you on campus. BTW - a personal interview on campus is not real meaningful. Have you been to the school? Compare yourself to the admissions stats from the UR website. The Class of '13 is posted now. I think '14 will be there soon.

My daughter will be starting her Freshman year there in August and is very excited. We love everything about UR. If it becomes your clear #1 choice, consider pros and cons of Early Decision.

Good luckto you!! Let us know how things progress.
