URSA Consensus......

Ya but dude…this girl claims her boyfriend can see his FA summary.
The guy has a 3.0 for film and got no interview?!? W.T.F.

morethansunshine, how do you keep checking your summary if the sites down?

URSA Online is available Sunday 6 p.m. through Tuesday 1 a.m., and from Tuesday to Saturday, 6 a.m. to 1 a.m., Pacific Time. Please try accessing the system during this period.

missanab oright, why does he have to have an interview? film majors need that? its oright, how do you know he will get rejected? what if he has great EC, and a killer essay? history shows that if you see your finaiad your in. those who can’t see it, does not mean your rejected. Lets not get this guy with 3.0 make us skeptical, we are in a great situation and it would be sad if we would be the first one’s who got rejected by seeing FINAID.

lol don’t get me wrong…i’m trying to stay optimistic.
BUT you need an interview for film, you can’t get in without it.
he HAS to have an interview

sweetnezz what do you think about this? the guy has a 3.0 film major, he needs and interview, can see a finaid summary? is he in or will he be the first person to get rejected by seeing the finaid in your opinion?

we’ll have to see what she says because i am not 100% positive that you need an interview to be accepted for film, if you did there is going to be a problem i’m guessing.

hope this works out

I have a friend who applied to UCLA for film.
I just asked her about the interview…waiting for her reply.

I quote her:
“Yes, they choose 30 out of like 500 and they accept 15”

which means yes you need and interview and that they choose 30 out of like 500 to interview and they only accept 15 of those people that they interviewed.

perhaps financial aid works differently for different schools within ucla? For the past 2 years no one has ever applied to L&S, seen financial aid, and then gotten rejected.

edit: There aren’t many film majors posting so we don’t really know whats going on in that department. But for L&S we have TONS of people and this is why we are able to disprove that phonecall/TAP scholarship letter/ regents invite = acceptance.

JetForce, your right, there haven’t been many film majors posting their stats in here. Now that guy who got a 3.0 and wasn’t interviewed, you just never know maybe he did get accepted. and lets go by common sense why would someone who sees their finaid even get rejected in the first place? it makes more sense for a person who can’t see it has good stats and get accepted. It would be totally unfair to see finaiad summaries and then they dont offer admission that would suck.

Also, people have reported that they’ve called UCLA and have confirmed that financial aid is done only for admitted students.

or maybe… she’s lying about her bf being able to see it ;)

Anyone ever heard of Occam’s Razor?

Yes, I have heard of it.

A friend of mine got accepted to UCLA film. They only interview 30 people and admit 15 of them. He got a phone call last Monday (4/13) and they let him know that he’s been admitted! I don’t know if he saw a summary on URSA, but that admission call was earlier than one could expect!

So for those of you who can’t see it, does it say that your FAFSA has been received?

nacho if you can’t see it, dont panic. they have received it, they will only update it if your accepted thats it. Now, there have been cases where you can’t see your finaid and still get accepted. Good news for those of us who can see however, is that nobody has been later rejected.

“i keep checking my summary because somehow in my mind i keep thinking that it might disappear. LOL”

i feel like that too, except i dont check all the time, i just get really nervous when i do happen to check again :((
