US News 2011 rankings allegedly released. Legit?

USNWR is kind of a joke, so you should have learned to expect it by now. They don’t really know how to sell magazines like other companies, which is why they have to depend on the hype produced by their college rankings… which is how we got into this mess in the first place.

There’s no supply without demand. The fact that a thread speculating on the new rankings has existed for 5 months before the release and consists of 1170 posts and 59 pages is proof enough of that.</p>

<p>As for it being a joke, colleges have learned that it’s a force to be reckoned with these days. It was not so long ago that Chicago, of all universities, met with USNWR officials to discuss fixing its rank and reporting measures.</p>
