the question with the supreme court and the cyber gossip
did the answer choice have the word theory in it… or no

Going back to the garden passage, was the bit about coevolution to illustrate a definition or to extend a counter-argument?

definitely to illustrate a definition. the counterargument did not surface until a later paragraph. you can’t extend something that isn’t yet presented

I put illustrate a definition. There was not a counter argument really

minus 7, is that a 700+? Hopefully

Why does the author mention the bee and apple?

Sigh… reading has always been my worse sectioin. what would 12 wrong be?

Would -2 RAW be 800 on this one? Also, for the censorship passage, was the answer “inaccurate because it didn’t consider the professionals who were fighting for the curriculum(or something to that effect)”?

One other thing, how difficult was each section compared to previous SAT’s? Was this a relatively hard SAT or is there no real consensus? Thanks!

-3 to -4 is in 800 range IMO. I think the CR was on the normal to slightly harder region.

^, because it focused on inabilities and not their ability to fight back or something like that.

BTW the indian american passage was from this book pg 28

@skorpius, do you remember the choices?

And for the May curve, -2 was a 780 and -6 was a 710…so I don’t think -3/-4 is an 800 unless this is considered a hard CR section and ends up with an easy curve

Only six wrong and your already at a 710? Man…

6 wrong got 730 in january

Was this on par with May? I know for sure i got -2 (thanks vocab) but i think i did fine on the rest.

Seriously? 3 wrong got a 740 in March, I must’ve had a pretty harsh curve…

rayankee i said to highlight an unlikely relationship…the other ones made no sense to me

Yeah, March had a harsh curve. Does anyone remember one towards the end of the censorhip passage- something like “which of the following statements would the author of Passage… agree with” I put something about taboloids influencing the larger, more credible papers.

^^^That is what I put as well, but a good majority went with the option regarding the complexity of Internet gossip.

Only time will tell…

I think I put something about the complexity of internet gossip, but I don’t remember the other choice, which sounds like it makes sense

But complexity of internet gossip also makes sense for sure, because he noted how tabloids are not considered public sources and are harmless, but that their information on reputable news sources can be dangerous…that is complexity at its finest

@skorpius, I don’t remember the other choices, or even the context of the question (lines would be a huge help), but based on instincts only, that doesn’t sound like it makes too much sense because bees pollinating plants and fruits is not exactly abnormal

Valid argument. I excel at standardized tests, but I also feel very strongly that a multiple choice test cannot accurately quantify one’s analytical abilities.

The rebuttal I would offer to your point is that your answer is one that uses deductive reasoning to an extent that the SAT would not expect. The choice I selected, regarding the inclination of reputable sources to report on the less reputable ones, was more directly supported by the text.

But who knows, right?
