USC 2009 transfer thread

Wow. That is SO crazy. Zamela good luck. My last status update was 4/6 with the June 1st comment.

yeah, i was not expecting to see another status update for a while. i don’t know if they’re playing some cruel joke on me or what. i’ll call them after visiting san jose this weekend if i don’t receive anything in the mail. i didn’t think CLAS would hear from them until mid-May

zamela… when did u receive ur update that they were reviewing ur app? that seems like a key thing in this, as some people received their update in feb (my bf) and some right now(me!).

the first one i got was in february after my application was received. the 2nd update was april 15th after complaining to myself about no status updates for 2 months. i got the 3rd status update today

ahhhhh i am so excited for you haha.
i havent gotten a status update since feb.!
best of luck zamela!

Hey, do you guys think status change affect the chance to get into USC? My status was changed in 3/19/09 but i do not think it really matters.

Why do you think it is important? I am just wondering.

Trojanpic I really don’t think that it matters either. Your stats matter :)

Oh, and I guess to clear that up, I do not think that the occurrence of status updates are contingent upon your stats.

ok so about all of the statuses can someone post a list of the statuses that have been showing up…in the order they’ve been showing up?

Ok, I’m sorry I just haven’t gotten the memo, but does having a lot of status updates mean you have a greater chance at getting in or something? I’m really confused. I just don’t know what everything means so someone has to help me out here.

I can’t seem to find it on their website but what is USC’s stance on retaking the SAT or ACT after high school? I did decent on my ACTs but they were definitely not outstanding. Do they allow you to retake them? If so, does it look bad?

The goldfinch: if you have 30+ units after this spring semester, they will not look at your high school records including SATs.

trojanpic: the reason we are all freaking out for zamela is that her status currently indicates that a decision for her has been made already. none of us were expecting to hear for a while

Really? I thought they still took it into consideration. I am on the quarter system so I’m assuming that 30 units is the equivalent of one year. Is that correct?

no they don’t still take it into consideration if you have 30+. but umm, i think on the website, it says to DIVIDE your quarter units by 1.5 to figure out your semester units. for sure.

and yeah, 30 units is the average for one completed year.

so 45 quarter units = 30 semester units.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks so much!

you’re welcome.

zamela, are you able to see your financial aid summary?

Have any Annenberg apps had any status updates lately? My last update was 4/7 and I haven’t heard anything since . . . getting super worried!

How do you log onto OASISto check financial aid status updates? It says I need my USC email username and password.

TTYLA:

when you go to this website:

https://camel.usc.edu/OASIS/Login.aspx?msg=timeout

put in your USC id number

then as the password, put your birthday in this format: MMDDYYYY

then you’ll be able to reset the password and then proceed to check your status.

jennnn- nope, i can’t see my financial aid summary yet. it changed to “being reviewed” today.

“Sorry, the information you are looking for is currently not available. Please try again later.”
