USC 2009 transfer thread

i think it’s always the best option to give them a ring. it never hurts, and it’s better to know whats going on in case there are any mishaps. i say definitely give them a call

BoarderBry, it means that is the latest you will hear from them concerning you admission. I have the same status.

Did you call them captain rodeo?

I got the instructions today on how to submit my spring grades. Hopefully I can get it all in by June 30, or else they no longer consider me for admissions.

They close in 10 minutes…

@santa_monica2

They won’t after 6/30? Oh dear. My school (PCC) ends on 6/20 and they are notoriously slow grade reporters. Is it informal grade reporting or must it be official in the form of a transcript, does anyone know?

The instructions USC sent me said they can be in the form of a transcript, official or unofficial, or grade cards. You have a postcard like form that instructions film in their name class and final grade then sign them. You collect these cards and mail them in. I will have to do grade cards because my semester ends June 16 and it is usually more than two weeks to post official grades.

Sorry Boarder. Concerning that, no. That is a general status update that everyone gets. It never hurts to call and see if they have all of you information.

yeah BoarderBry,

don’t worry about that update. that’s what most of us on here have now. it’s better than them saying you don’t have all the documents you know. also, when are you expecting to hear by, we’ve all known that we might not hear until june 1st, and even then, that just might be a SGR. so some of us won’t find out until JULY. yikes.

but really, the most we can do right now is either bug the crap out of the admissions people. or just relax and let his will be done.

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2009)
We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing. We hope to receive the grades before June 30. We expect you will be notified of our final decision by mid-July.

DANG MAN! i feel like i’m part of the smaller group that hasn’t received an update now. even though realistically i’m part of the larger group! but still.

westcoast4life,

what are your stats and stuff??

Not to seem like the debbie downer but last year I applied as a high school senior. And everyone who got an “acted upon” status were rejected. The statuses that stayed the same were accepted. But maybe it’s different for transfers? Sorry just thought I’d share the news

collegehopeful21, i think everyone gets that because either way, they have to act upon the application.

but we know that they don’t send rejections out THIS early, so if anyone has an acted upon status right now, it’s most likely an acceptance.

Didn’t do too well in HS. Probably like a 3.0 overall.
3.6 first semester in college. I’m at a four year private currently.
Sent in a recommendation and had a fairly good essay.
Lots of ECs and traveling.

I think it’s differet for transfers collegehopeful…thanks captain and aaam

How many other people got SGRs?

i think like 3 or 4 others so far westcoast.

what school do you go to right now??

westcoast4life -

what major did you apply for?

I rather not say for private reasons. Its in the top 40 (East Coast). Lets just say I want to go back home :).
I applied for CLAS - Economics/Undeclared.
