USC 2009 transfer thread

If you aren’t sure if your classes will transfer or not, you can check out USC’s Articulation Agreements with other 4-year universities:

https://camel.usc.edu/articagrmt/artic_hist_range.aspx

Oh wow, thanks for that guys! That gives me a bit of an idea.

were you okay on how many of your classes transferred over, knobzie??

Man, so I only have 37 transferable units. My actual school GPA is 3.87, and my USC transfer GPA is 3.93- if I get in I totally need to push for some of my other classes to get transferred over

No, not at all, hahah. Apparently, only two courses look okay for transfer. It doesn’t look like they accept much from my school…

ahh that’s weird. are you absolutely POSITIVE only two transfer over. that seems implausible. reading the page is kind of confusing at first. :)

and Captain, you can do the transfer petition thing if your admitted. maybe that will help? hopefully they accept you and then accept your petition. did you just figure out your transferrable units?

Well, I wouldn’t doubt me misunderstanding this page. Zero diversity courses transfer over, zero writing courses… Seeing as I’ve taken mostly Media/Film courses, only one is transferable and it’s one I haven’t taken. Oh mannn… hahah Seeing as my major required that I only take Math 100 to get rid of my math requirement at my current school… that doesn’t transferrrr… maybe some of my acting courses transfer over, but I’m not sure I fully get this page.

ok ithink usc is the first school where ALL my classes transferred over!! =D im so excited! haha

peppamintt- that’s really good

72 / 91 semester units are transferable to USC for me

ohh that’s so exciting peppamintt! i’m happy for you!

aaam90

How is LMU film school, do you know? If I don’t get into SCA, I will most likely reapply, along with LMU. I know you are transferring out of there so the school must not be amazing. But what do you know about the film program?

knobzie- sometimes the course title is a little different from school to school when it comes to the number. for example at my school english 1B is equal to USC’s WRIT 130. Sometimes the number/names dont match up exatly.

Also i just emailed my couselor about some AP exams ( gulotta is my counselor too :)!!) On usc’s website it says that all AP scores of 3, 4, and 5 and given 4 units of elective credit. Does anyone know how the AP classes go into GPA. Like is a 3 equivalent to a C average and a 5 equivalent to an A average? i forgot to ask my counselor that last part.

aaam, I have a horrible Microeconomics professor as well. Just horrible, i’ve got a solid B but and I know I’m good at economics. I had an absolutely great macro professor first semester and got stuck with this horrible prof this time around…bleh Pretty much the only final that I’m stressing about

santa_monica2, i don’t know much about the film school sorry. i know it’s decent at least. i’ll ask around for you though. :)

also Sshoot3r, who’s your econ teacher? it would be funny if we had the same one.

I took macro/micro at the same time with the same professor. The guy was awesome, although his exams were hard as hell.

dang that sounds kind of difficult hippo.

also, uscplease, AP scores do not go to your GPA. sorry! i wish they did too.

Knobzie…what school do you go too?
I just got to my car from my class, and I had to play catch up from the 1965423 pages I missed within 3hours, and I probably look like a weirdo just sitting in my car reading all the posts.■■■■■
Grey have you heard anything on sppd
And you guys are the best…I love our group hope we all get in

I actually liked it because I only had to attend one of the classes for the first two weeks when we were overviewing and learning about economics as a whole.

I also found that I like Micro a whole hell of a lot more than Macro.

I’m sure more than two of your courses transfer over–the Articulation Agreements are only laid out for us to use as guidelines. All courses listed on your university’s agreement only reflect past courses that students transferring to USC from your university were granted credit for. Other courses will/will not be given credit on a case per case basis (or you can always try to petition a course for credit once you enroll at USC).

cappy, i do love my jack haha

and for all you new members, there will be a pizza party for the acceptees. i guess i’ll come anyway win or lose for the pizza and jack  i’m just so pumped up about the championship game i had todayyy, at least i can add it to my accomplishments for an appeal if i get rejected :P
