lol sweet yeah that would be pretty cool, i am from idaho really fun i know

I saw a few pages back a reference to June 15 - what’s that about?

My SGR letter says the deadline to turn in Spring grades is June 30, just want to confirm it is the same for everyone?

yeah AM its the same for everyone which is June 30 cause i am also an SGR and i got the letter

yup that’s what i received as well.

Yes, me too. It’s possible what you saw was the message that some of us are getting in our app status check which is “Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by June 1. If for some reason you don’t receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning June 11th.”

Which is of course, wrong. They likely didn’t update it from the non-SGR version.

yeah because my status is still the same which is that they have received my grades and will forward to committee soon so what does your say?

Thanks all you guys for your well wishes. I am humbled by them.

So you know:
I have applied to Chapman (Dodge) and still haven’t heard back.

I was accepted into the English Department at FSU as a Creative Writing major. None too shabby a choice. I think however I will be double majoring there in Narrative Studies for Film (A Self Directed English Concentration major) and Art History.

I was just saying last night how ungrateful I was for not accepting the full scholarship to FSU and then…USC helped me make up my mind…LOL. God had something to do with it also I am certain.

So today I did the right thing and explained my situation to FSU’s Admissions Dept. and am now looking at scheduling Orientation, Housing and all that good stuff.

The way I figure it, in two years I’ll be back on the Graduate Board sweating SCA out with some of you and some new guys also.

You guys on here have been the absolute best. I can’t think of a better way I would have liked to have spent the last 5-6 months of my life. Honestly.

Namaste to all of you: (The God in me, sees, recognizes and worships the God in you.)

Best of luck in fall or wherever the journey takes you.

Greg stay strong dont feel down of yourself everything happens for a reaason and your full ride to FSU is awesome and exciting congrats on that

Stay strong and have a good time

Thanks for confirming! Hopefully we’ll all hear back shortly after that 6/30 date.

yeah have you gotten any updates?

None. I got my letter, but my status has been “We are unable to process the status of your application at this time. Please try again later, or Contact Us with any questions or concerns you might have.” for about a month. My Spring semester is still going on (ends next Friday), so I won’t be able to send in my grades until the last possible moment. I’m stressing about that a bit, hoping that my school will have everything together before the deadline.

yeah its stressful i went through that, so are you a sophomore transfer?

Hi Greg0629,

Just let you know it even makes me angry and depressed that USC did not accept you, because I know that some %&^^ jock took the position you’ve applied for and you deserved to have that position more than anyone else…stay strong because life doesn’t end right here. Think about all those HIV/AIDS, Cancer, and other terminal illness vicitims and even they sometimes have a smile on their faces…stay strong my friend.

Over and out.

Yes, applied as a sophomore transfer. I’ll have completed 31 units at the end of the semester.

Sweet are you from a cc in cali?

Yep, Pasadena City College.

ok thats cool so what do you think your chances are if you dont mind me asking

I have no idea, it is so hard to know what they are looking for. I currently have a 3.8 and hopefully will maintain that after this semester. I’ve been working full time at a large media company for the past five years, so I don’t have a lot of extracurriculars like running clubs or things like that - just the heavy work experience.

I’m choosing to take the SGR as a good sign and hope that I compare well to everyone else? I wish we knew more about the SGR review process. Like, at that point are they just looking at the GPAs and picking the top? Or do they review your whole application over again at that time too?

So many unanswered questions! :)

yeah i know what you mean those are the same questions i would like to know i heard that SGR are for applicants with pre-reqs in progress not necessarily because we fell short of a criteria so i am wondering what else they are looking at for the SGR like what evaluations are set in place that we might have to meet?

Yes, exactly! I’m hoping it’s just that they want to make sure you didn’t fail your classes or back out of the pre-reqs?
