USC 2009 transfer thread

Actually I was able to log in to deposit at about 10 or so Pacific time.

My status just changed to “We are unable to process the status of your application at this time. Please try again later, or Contact Us with any questions or concerns you might have.”

I can still log into deposit though.

I live so close to USC (15 miles or so) that my packet should arrive today or tomorrow. Mail comes in 2 hours…

Still don’t know about Fall/Spring or if I got my major…

Macro and chaly, an upward trend is a very good thing. Especially if you are consistently up later on.

Part of the reason I expect I wasn’t accepted out of HS is that even though I had a 3.7 unweighted in all honors classes, my grades went down slowly throughout high school.

aww peppa…
Im happy you got in!!!
And study habits will be adjusted along the way. haha! I know I haven’t really studied in a year (i took a year off), so it’s gonna be hard for me :/

Ok so if i got a 4.0 my first semester in college but my high school sucked and then my second semester of college i got two b’s and 3 A’s what do you guys think my chances are?

behold, i don’t think there is a way of knowing just by your grades.
My GPA was below average and I still got in…

yeah i guess you are right but it seems like SGR ppl might have to worry more about the spring grades

Well, depending on the unit values of those classes, you should have had about a 3.6.

When I had a transfer plan meeting, I was basically told that in most cases (as in, not film school or anything else that is really hard to get into, or things that require portfolios and whatnot) a 3.6 was essentially a sure thing to get in. You’ll have higher than that for sure due to having a 4.0 first semester.

The slight downturn might hurt you, but 4.0-3.5 is not a bad fluctuation… The highest acceptance conditions I’ve seen for non-SGRs was a 3.5 in their Spring grades. So you should be fine.

Ultimately, you can never tell, but I do think you should get in…

I do wonder why you were an SGR with a 4.0 first semester though.

Well, I’d say don’t worry because there is nothing more you can do about it. Let’s just hope for the best :)

i want to call and ask if a decision has been made. i’m kinda scared though! maybe i should just wait until tomorrow…

well because i only had 15 credits completed and i still had pre-reqs in progress but i was just wondering what my chances were with the 2 B’s and they were in upper level classes so i hope they look at that also. I am trying not to worry but it had been hard because this is my first choice and i really want to get in

you should call marco

PHEW
no decision yet

the lady was really nice this time too!

really what did you ask

i just asked if they have made a decision on my application yet and she said no it’s still under review. i also asked if we’re allowed to call on june 11th to get a decision over the phone and she said that they only can tell us over the phone once it has been 10 days.

it’s crazy how people are still waiting! Hang in there guys. I know how tough it is. Good luck and keep the faith!!

yah i guess that’s what we get for being sgrs… SIGH

yeah tell me about it i just called and they said my app was under review still

i REALLY hope it’s not like regular decisions when rejections come out last and acceptances first. i mean they are definitely many other transfers that applied that dont post on this forum. but honestly i think we’ll know by the end of june

yeah im sure and there are also a lot of ppl who have gotten in and have been rejected so i think its balanced i just really hope i get in

@macro: Don’t worry, you’ll be ok with your high school GPA. Your stats are almost identical to mine and I was accepted into Marshall! I beleive my personal statement and short answer questions were really strong though.
