@SouthOCtrojan First, you most likely wouldn’t get a decision until later May anyway. But from what I have heard, if any of the pre-reqs are outstanding you are guaranteed an SGR and therefore wouldn’t hear until mid-July… or so I’ve read…

Well,

from the 09 thread:

"
zamela’s update is different:

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2009)
The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you do not receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results this over the phone beginning June 11th.

Status last updated: 04/22/2009 "

So some of us should hear back in the next 1-3 weeks?!?

Did zamela apply to CLAS?

I believe it was CLAS Kinesiology

@LagunaSC- Im not so sure about a guaranteed SGR, I thought I read from last years posts that people were accepted into Marshall with an outstanding prereq in progress, but I could be wrong. Maybe if you fax/scan your final unofficial final grade asap, that could avoid the SGR? I dunno I could be wrong.

Also, I had a friend who applied as a junior transfer to marshall last year and was accepted in late april. Im not sure about his prereqs being finished before the spring or not but regardless, he was accepted at the end of april.

I have a strong feeling that it has to do more with where you are in the pile of applications and not as much with the school you applied for, because you have to get past the admissions office before they will even pass it on to the respective schools.

ahhh kk SWEET that means we might hear back very soon!!!

@SouthOCtrojan

Yeah. I would agree with faxing, or sending in an unofficial final grade. I don’t think it would also hurt if you created a Mid/Final Year Report showing your grades and possibly with your professors signatures on it.

I also think you’re right on the pile of applications. Maybe that’s what the status are for. Received by USC, then forwarded to the prospective school, decision made, sent back to admissions, and decision sent out. Who knows.

@dbroncos23- Yea, I’m going to fax/email a copy of my informal final grades as soon as they are posted if I havent heard from USC by the 20th/21st, just in case. It may extremely expedite my admissions decision.

it’s probably best not to anticipate an early admission. it just makes the wait more unbearable when it doesn’t happen!

how many units did zamela have though? and gpa?

I just reviewed the decisions from last year’s thread, there were a few people who did get in with no SGR that were still completing the prereqs, including a guy who was actually finishing english II AND macroecon…He was conditionally accepted, (B’s on both prereqs and at least a 3.3 GPA that last term).

@southOCtrojan - so in conclusion, it is impossible to conclude anything yet we shall all continue to analyze everything up until june 1st :)

@kulakai- basically, YES.

lol, I hate this behind the curtain feeling the admissions office gives me. Oh well, nothing else to do but focus on my classes for the last month i guess.

@Kula–hahah so true. We’re all trying to analyze this and figure out the science behind it, when the only thing I’ve been able to include thus far is that there IS no method to USC’s admission madness!

lol, i think for me its more just trying to anticipate their next move and when, so I can plan my strategy accordingly.

Haha. Is it possible for us to have a strategy at this point? Other than checking our statuses with X amount of frequency.

I intend on watching the playoffs and finishing the semester strong. Soon enough, that package will be there. :)

Hey everyone. I just noticed that there were fax documents I was supposed to send in with hand-written grades. Did everyone do this? And if so do you think it’s alright that I just faxed it today, however, sent in my official transcripts a while ago… Thanks

Same here, happy. We’ll know our admission results before the NBA crowns its champion. That’s not too bad, haha.

Go Bobcats. Yeah, I said it.

@Wghiller If you want to goto USC, there’s only one NBA team to cheer for…and their homecourt is down the street on Figueroa(and no, it’s not the Clippers)

@Rhandler- I’ve already made one Clippers joke in this thread, so I’ll just assume you’re talking about the Lakers.

And don’t worry, I’ve always rooted for Kobe & LA. But this is the first year my home state squad has made the playoffs, so I have to at least cheer for them in the first few rounds–or just the first round.
