USC 2010 Transfer Thread

congrats Dainese! Ahhh I want mine to come now!!

@foodmunkee

You can either dual enroll and do AS100/200 at the same time (need to attend both the AS100 and AS200 classes, but they’re only 1 credit each) or you can go straight into AS200. I believe you’ll have to attend an extra week at field training if you skip AS100, which occurs between the AS200/300 years. I might be wrong though.

@jaboney no… my status is weird. I have no idea if they’re reviewing it or not. what major in thornton? I’m a music industry major, so no audition.

@daisydaisy, They said he’s being reviewed. Popular Music and the audition went very well.

@Jaboney I’m a Thornton transfer hopeful. My status hasn’t changed whatsoever. It’s annoying, but I’m trying to be as patient as I can.

Hey CCers! I am looking for a female roommate to live in Chez Ronnee for the Fall 2010/Spring 2011 semesters. My apartment is a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment. Rent is $860 for a shared bedroom that comes with its own bathroom and a free parking space. The building is one block from campus (near Troy and the row) and has a great courtyard with bbq grills and fire pits. Security guards are posted on the corners of our block, so it’s very safe.

Please message me if you’re interested! You would be living with me and two other girls who are friendly and easy to get along with. Congrats to everyone who was accepted, and good luck to those who are waiting! I also have pictures of the apartment I can send out.

Thanks!

@housefan, It’s pure torture, maybe worse than water boarding! At least he’s being reviewed. How did you fell about your audition?

@housefan well that makes me feel a little bit better at least… because my status hasn’t changed either.

@daisydaisy/housefan what really kills me is that IF you receive an SGR it could be until mid-July before you hear anything.

@jaboney- If he gets an SGR, doesnt mean mid july necessarily. Its just a deadline, Im pretty sure that a lot of SGRs, if sent out as soon as the grade is posted, will hear back way before then.

@Jaboney - That was me last year, and it was a killer. Though if it is some consolation, there were people who were accepted that heard back in July, so people shouldn’t think that a late reply means automatic rejection.

@marshall applicants- Nobody else has had the changeover? W T F…maybe its just the all nighter I pulled last night and the general sleep deprivation I have from studying everynight late night getting to me…but im starting to get irritated.

@Jaboney I’m a music industry major, which, luckily for me, doesn’t include a scary audition! I agree, I do NOT want a SGR. Just waiting now is killing me.

@daisydaisy We’re just going to have to wait. I suspect around May our status will begin to change.

@daisydaisy/housefan Any idea which building is best for housing for Thornton students?

@SouthOCtrojan: Yeah, I feel you. Looking at last year’s threads, Marshall applicant decisions came a bit later than the other schools. I think that it could be safe to assume that the more competitive the school, the longer the wait – SGR or otherwise. Marshall is the epitome of a competitive applicant pool.

The wait is making work go by even slower.

I still have this. Ahhhh, please change already!!

We are reviewing your application. Sometimes we require additional information, so be sure to respond to any requests promptly. Transfer applicants are notified of their admission, or of a request for more information by June 1.

@skyline- Yea, but last year I knew someone who was acepted late april for marshall. So I dunno… We already know of two people whove gotten decisions from marshall and another who is being reviewed. I just need this win. get the burden off my shoulders. Ive been obsessed over getting into USC for two years straight now and ive been involved with the application process for over a year now. f m l.

@SouthOCTrojan I have been obsessed wover getting into USC since I was about five years old hahaha

“I have all the characteristics of a human being: flesh, blood, skin, hair; but not a single, clear, identifiable emotion, except for greed and disgust. Something horrible is happening inside of me and I don’t know why. My nightly bloodlust has overflown into my days. I feel lethal, on the verge of frenzy. I think my mask of sanity is about to slip.”

-lol, I think Bret Easton Ellis basically just summed up how i feel right now from the combination of the last 3 weeks of school and this wait behind the cardinal curtain.

@SouthOCtrojan: I think that goes with any applicant pool, but the flood of decisions came at a much later date. On any case, I’m starting to wonder how those particular applicants (with earlier decisions) received those decisions so early. I really dislike speculating so much. It just gives me anxiety.
