USC 2010 Transfer Thread

I know this information is not really relevant to transfers now, but for future transfers. There is truth to Marshall changing their prerequisite courses. I emailed them about 2 weeks ago and I just got a response. I assume they’re busy. haha.

Dear dbroncos23,

Thank you for your interest in the University of Southern California and the Marshall School of Business.

Our curriculum at the Marshall School of Business has recently changed. As such, our prerequisites have also been adjusted. Instead of having to complete ECON 203, ECON 205, MATH 118, and WRIT 140, students interested in transferring will only need to complete MATH 118 or MATH 125 and WRIT 140. Additionally, we recommend students take the Accounting series, which includes both Financial and Managerial Accounting, and begin taking General Education courses.

What school are you currently attending? In many instances, USC has an articulation history, which may help determine which courses will transfer to USC from your current school. If one exists, we may be able to assist you with course equivalents.

If you have anymore questions please feel free to contact our office.

@dreamingUSC omg im gonna kill myself lol 5 more crappy weeks to go… 6 including finals week I think -_-
@wghiller haha thanks man
@Dainese COnGRATS DUDE :D

@jcarroll6 lolol i’d be freakin happy if it changes to “acted upon” by tomorrow nite. :D

@foodmunkee

I’m guessing he’s going off the fact that USC sends its packages out on Friday. Therefore, you’re status would have to be updated, if you are in this week’s so called “batch” or “wave”.

@foodmunkee you are lucky, I have 7.5 more weeks left of school (including finals). we JUST got back from spring break

@dbroncos23 - the marshall curriculum change was discussed at length previously in this thread but I forget what pages that was on. They have all of the information regarding the changes on their website including degree worksheets for the new curriculum.

@Jocelyne626 oh *****! daaaaaaaayuummm lolol I guess we just gotta trudge on until we finish our dreaded terms at our [former :D] colleges

@foodmunkee haha yeppp transferitis is killing me but its all good once we finish. because once our last class ends we can officially be trojans :)

@Kulakai

I think they’re changing it again though. I was planning to pick out classes for next year, when someone on here said Marshall was changing its curriculum again. You use to have to take MICRO/MACRO. Now you don’t. The page must of have been updated because it’s now showing the changes.

If this was talked about before, then I apologize. I just thought it was something new.

Southoctrojan- You’re still trying get that reservation at Dorsia? And let me guess, you have a thing for Phil Collins? haha

@mxbile-nobody goes there any more-- is that donald trumps car?

I figure I might as well add myself.

has anyone emailed marshall/admissions to see when marshall will begin to review in mass Amounts?

@SouthOCtrojan: Not here. The less I bother them, the better. I’m sure everything is going as planned. I really don’t expect any kind of response until the end of next week at the earliest – which will be a full month since they last changed my status.

EDIT: Huzzah! I’m a junior member. I want an avatar – a Goldman Sachs one :/!

@skyline-lol, yea I agree. I dont want to bother them with dumb questions like that. Why do you think I asked on here rather than bother them myself. :-p

@Jocelyne626 Have you received your package yet? I am kind of interested what your conditions will be on your acceptance packet taking into account that your 3.3 GPA is about what they ask all people admitted to maintain for their Spring grades.

@trojanhopeful1 I’m guessing you’re on the east coast? USC out there is South Carolina…USCWest is considered the real USC…we all know what the true USC is though. They are just clinging to their tradition haha

@rhandler33 - no I haven’t, they said they would mail it today, and I live about 25 mins away from there so hoping I would get it soon. I will let you know once I get it though. Also I will let you guys know about my FA package once I know (since I have a high EFC it might help others out too)

@Skyline / SouthOC – I called two days ago in an attempt to get an answer with my whole study abroad situation. The lady sounded sincere in saying that she wouldn’t be able to know my application status, let alone tell me if I was accepted or not. She then proceeded to say that Marshall students are really going to hear mid-May… Which could have just been her saying thats what it normally is… I’m expecting next week, but that’s just me.

@poiman12/foodmunkee

Yeah, I just hope I’m accepted! But honestly, the more I hear about it (finding out that only 13 of my projected 61 credits will be looked at meaning they’ll be looking closely at my high school transcript) the less hopeful I am. Oh well.

And as far as the AFROTC thing goes, if you join your fall semester of your sophomore year, you’ll still be doing the regular field training. If you join spring or after of your sophomore year, you’ll be going to the 5 week program. Don’t worry, you’ll be caught up fairly soon regardless.

You will still have to double up on the Air Science classes though for that one year, but those are only like 50 minute little 1 credit classes.
