USC 2010 Transfer Thread

so nervous…send in my transcript that they required on monday and probably it gon take a while for them to update the status again :confused:
and I am still waiting for irvine’s offer…2nd choice after USC

f1rstofthemonth: Ah okay, I’m doing Pre-Medicine, though in HS I had more intentions of becoming a physical therapist. Now, I’m considering Physiatry, which is a doctor of physical therapy. Both majors are essentially the same- the only differences are the school requirements, the setting in which they work in (physiatrists work in a hospital with more serious injuries), and the salary, which greatly differs. I just changed my emphasis so I can get paid more.

So those that receive SGRs most likely will get in if they keep higher than a 3.75+?

soph transfers usually get a SGR.

I’m pretty sure you can expect a SGR letter/email within the next week or two.

@rawrgasm SGR means they are interested in u but I think the acceptance/rejection varies. And yes SGR is better than a rejection.

@silvergirl2, i feel like there are atleast 10 pages between our responses but once again, good luck! and have fun on the tour, i really hope i get in so i can go on a FORMAL tour instead of one by my dad just pointing out all the places where him and his friends would get wasted before/after class LOL…just out of curiousity where did you go to hs? and if you’re accepted are you planning on living there or commuting?

@everyone i know there was some discussion about “dorming” on this thread but i thought i’d let everyone know that only freshman can dorm and that sophomores and upperclassmen get put into the apartments

sweetestdream: That is not true. My boyfriend lived in the Parkside International Hall last year and had neighbors that were older. In fact, one of his neighbors was about twenty-five.

@USPlacer YEEEAAAAAAHHH WOOHOO hahahahahaha :D

@dreamingusc, thats really weird. my friend at usc was just telling me that only freshman dorm! hmm now i have to go back & doublecheck with her

Most sophomores (or older) do elect to live in an apartment, while relatively few dorm- perhaps that is why she was under the impression.

wow! I feel really old then. Am I the only 25 year old trying to transfer?

@Dainese & TheGoldFinch, you two are so in! PSYCHOLOGY MAJORS all the way! After you guys posted that your status has changed, I’ve been checking my status incessantly since I’m a Psych major too! My grades aren’t as great as you two though so maybe I won’t be receiving a package this year. :(

@nacar13- whoa whoa, lets not jump to conclusions haha. you have stats that are still competitive enough to get accepted, dont beat yourself up. not to mention, you have a status change! its only a matter of time now. for all of us. :)

BE OPTIMISTIC!

@nacar13 - I’m 25 years old too…and we are not THAT old…so don’t worry :)

Be Positive!!! just keep telling yourself and everyone you will get accepted :)

Just to keep this going, for those of you who are not yet in the know…
myself, veggiechips, and foodmunkee are calling you out!!!

"Alright guys and gals…

Marshall vs. CLAS vs. Annenberg vs. Viterbi

We’ll all meet up prior to orientation (meet and greet) for an In-N-Out eating contest, the losing team will then have to wear a fUCLA t-shirt to orientation. Who’s down?

pending acceptances of course."

veggiechips would call it our official “meat n greet” … i kinda likes!

Sorry, I’m a vegetarian haha. I’d have to be the scorekeeper.

I don’t know if you guys missed it or not, but I couldn’t help but think about this guy’s post back on page 306.

"USC offered me a god-awful financial aid package. 9000 in loans plus a 13000 family contribution…except my family makes under $20,000 dollars and has no savings. Essentially they’re asking me to take out $22,000 a year in loans. I’m certainly glad that USC isn’t my only college option, haha. It’s not my top choice school anyways, but I thought you guys would be curious about financial aid. Hopefully you guys that really want to go there have better luck than I did. "

He was accepted for Viterbi Fall '10 by the way. I just hope this isn’t what everyone’s looks like.

don’t forget the School of Policy, Planning and Development! Even though there are only like 30 transfer students there but I’ll take on the challenge
It will be like Man V Food- USC style

@dreamingUSC they have veggie burgers (used to be a vegan then turned into a vegetarian and now a meat eater so I know haha)

i will take down the 10x10 muhahahahahahaha (jk-a 4x4 will suffice lol)

I am applying as open does that mean I get put in CLAS? I need to know this for our teams haha :)
