@archieg - No way to know that unless one of us was an admissions rep. Generally people assume it is more important to get better grades in your pre-reqs or major related courses.

yea that seems to be what they stress. Im worried, but at the same time confident because Im hoping they see that and they see my other grades and they just say “hes just not a calculus guy” or something along those lines.

bahhh… gonna be up in eugene this weekend so ill probably not know what happens till I get back.

So I got my financial award today. I still have to pay 5310 out of my own pocket cause USC has their own ■■■■■■■■ EFC. My FAFSA EFC is 0. That’s not including the copious amount of debt I’m getting myself into with student loans. How screwed are all you going to be by attending USC?

@hiuman- I already did. I did what I could, theres nothing else I could do now. Besides, I already sent out my transcript. If I couldve gotten it raised to a B, I wouldnt be flippin out right now haha.

Saddleback doesnt give out “+/-” grades, its all or nothing btw…

@ sirwonzalot - I’m going to be very screwed. My family’s EFC is high since mortgage is not really taken into account, so I qualify for zero financial aid other than unsubsidized loans (Even though both my parents are being furloughed right now!). Probably will be graduating with $30-40k in debt if I can go.

@ lafazman - No transfer is admitted into Leventhal straight off. You could list pre-accounting as your emphasis, which is what I did, but that’s about it. From what I recall, you can apply to Leventhal once you’re already at USC.

Has anyone gotten rejected yet? I have been on forwarded to committee for review for almost 2 weeks… probably rejected… but just wondering if anyone has gotten the bad news yet?

I still have the “reviewing” status… it’s never gonna change :(

I’m going to vegas this weekend to kick off summer break and I have this sneaking feeling that my letter will come while I’m gone. So, either I’m going to drink myself into submission because I was denied or I’m going to drink myself into a stupor because I was accepted. :D

@ Kulakai
Looks like you figured everything out. When I talked to my counselor on the phone, he told me to fax it in, but I emailed him the PDF as well. I leave no room for error haha. It was the unofficial transcript. I mailed the official today. It should be there Thursday, but that’s a formality after the initial submission.

@ tdbibbs
I’m sure the only reason my status changed so fast was because my counselor took care of everything himself. He said I should get my decision in the coming week or two.

@happydk - Alright sgr buddy, let me know if your status changes at any point now I’m curious if it will go to “committee has acted” or if we’ll simply get the decision in the mail within a week or two without any status change. My regional rep told me there was no need to fax cause when you do, the accepting fax just scans it and auto-emails it as an attachment to their inbox.

Haha whoops. I must have overloaded his inbox with emails.
When I sent in my 3 grade cards, I faxed and emailed them too.

I was looking at the verbiage on the status.
“We have received the spring grades requested by the committee.”

So does that mean the committee took an initial look at our apps and decided they would like to see how we did this spring before making a final decision?

@ deborahmei - my status is still the same way, (we are reviewing)…
but dont forget “Transfer applicants are notified of their admission, or of a request for more information by June 1.”

So technically we might not even be notified if we were accepted or rejected. There is still the chance that they might request more information from us…
