everyone I know already got in this is like nearly impossible. My USC hypothesis is indeed correct- everyone is getting in but hardly anyone (some but hardly) is getting good Financial Aid! hahahaha I win! they need money like a fat boy needs cake.

no one really wants to listen to me, but whatever goodluck! LOL

I got a sick financial aid package. Getting $32k alone in university grant. However, they are greedy bastards. Cause my EFC is $5k and the way USC seems is that no matter how much money you get, they still think you’re able to pay the EFC. $5k a year don’t sound much but both my folks are retired and I’m literally living off my GI bill, so $5k a year is a *****.

@sirownzalot well like for my friends that got admitted for freshman year got like 25K per school year. dude, thats freaking nuts… but even the poorest of poorest transfers are like not getting anything. some people have jobless parents… theyre still not getting anything, well theyre more like asking the death of them for documents. its freaking crazy. also, last year lots of my friends got rejected and this year literally everyone got accepted. Im just happy I kinda hypothesized correctly slighty. thank you for proving my (some but hardly) statement :)

also this guy from USC’s rotc mainly got a full ride… people in the us army, air force, etc get a lot of financial help since they serve our country : ) good job!

Veterans in Illinois get a free ride to any public school no matter how expensive it is AND get the GI bill. That’s what I’m doing right now, I just basically pocket my GI bill. I wouldn’t want to join ROTC for a free ride though, that means how many or so years in ROTC and then a 6 year commission afterwards.

I’m the poorest of the poor and they still expect me to be able to pay my $5k EFC.

@kulaki- no, i do not want to be admitted for my second choice at usc :(

this might sound pretty dumb but does anybody know if i can submit SIR’s to both USC and UCLA? i ask b/c i want to submit early for the sake of housing but im so indecisive…

@bessahousemafia - it finally changed to the “forwarded” status. Not sure what that means but to be honest I’m a little skeptical. Whatever at least it changed. I applied to Annenberg just in case you were wondering.

@hstudent890 - You can but when you eventually withdraw from one you will lose your enrollment deposit from that school. It is also considered respectful to withdraw from the one you don’t go to as soon as possible so that someone can get in off the waitlist.

Think I got anywhere between a 3.92 and a 4.0. That’ll be good for my SGR but what I’ve really found weird was the amount of SGR’s and few rejections there have been thus far. Looking at everyone else’s stats, I feel as if I am a bit farther down on the totem pole. Yet I still got a SGR. Here’s hoping for the best to all the other SGR recipients.

Ok so I faxed my grade reports 5/17 and i got a 4.0, but i still dont have an update. I have an unofficial transcript with 1 class that wasnt input and I have to wait until atleast June 2 to get the official sent, so should i just fax the unofficial with 1 class that is “in progress for spring 2010” when in my other 6 classes i got A’s??? I seriously cant wait any longer and im getting more annoyed each day because my damn teacher didnt turn my grade in on time

Oh and on the SGR it said grade reports are fine but when i e mailed my admission counselor she said they will wait for the official so i am pretty upset :(

Don’t know if this goes here but I got annenberg house for housing and the application says I am required to have the “community apartment meal plan.” I thought there was no required meal plans for all apartments or most. Does anyone know anything about this? thanks!

Wow it seems like a lot of Annenberg applicants got an update today. YAY! Hopefully, we get something from the mail by Tuesday the latest. Or maybe Wednesday.

So much to comment on…
Congrats to everyone making progress

TheGoldFinch, if you meant the online foreign placement then transfers aren’t eligible. We have to take it in person.

lovelyecila, I have to say that I’m inclined to disagree with your theory. I can’t say that it’s wrong but I just don’t necessarily think that it’s right. For one, garnering funds by accepting more people negatively impacts the prestige of the university which in turn tends to impact their long term revenue. Two, this could be entirely coincidence based on the evidence. Three, I don’t see why this financial aid situation would ever come up. If they only have X funds and anticipate giving Y acceptances they would give a maximum of X/Y to candidates. Plus, USC is a private school and thus less effected by external factors than public schools which also helps them significantly. Like I said, you could be right. I just don’t personally think you are but I can see where you’re coming from. Just wanted to give my interpretation.

For everyone asking about financial aid, the university counts assets up to a certain extent as collateral to pay for tuition. The part of your home, business, etc that you do own will be taken at a certain percentage with the idea that you could borrow based on it to help pay for attendance. CSS Profile schools do this.

wghiller, yes, the cost of attendance includes university room and board. If you tell them that you’re living off campus they’ll still use university costs as a guideline. Most colleges do it this way, from what I’ve seen.
